Man, I still feel like the Detroit line is too low, despite the fact they're at home off a bye, with a new president, against a team that played Sunday night.

I'll probably stay away from it.

As for Miami, I would probably feel better about getting behind them, but while I'll have to double check, I don't believe they've got a great home field advantage. I'd feel so much if I could get them at 7.

Oh, I just checked bodog. Miami +7 (-115). I just may have to jump on that.

They've had a brutal start to the year. Many teams would only be 1-3 after facing those 4 games(Carolina was the other opponent btw). Hell, you can make that 5 games after @NO now. They really do deserve a break it seems.

I agree. I think Minnesota is a wee bit better than NO. The LOS should be a big advantage for Minnesota. Unless I can get a great number, I almost never take the team with the worse O and D lines.

Can you explain why you like Pitt? I know Jax is overrated, but Pitt is so banged up and their O-line is a joke.

I took the over on the Pit/Jax game, not Pit to win. Jax has scored pretty high all season, Pit has not been as high, but they scored 23 against the tough Ravens DF last week... 36 points seems low, and w/ the juice at -105, vs -110 everywhere else, I thought it was a good bet... I am not comfortable enough with either team to make a determination at +-4 as I don't think either is noticably better than the other

my square 2 cents...

Did you watch the game? Pitt couldn't move the ball all night and got a lucky defensive TD. The score is definitely not reflective of their offense.

edit: I'm an idiot, I didn't know you were talking about totals.

I watched most of quarters 1-3, but I was out of the room when they scored like 14 points in a few minutes...

i really don't think philadelphia should be favored by 6 points with westbrook's and andrew's injury situations, i don't think their offense has looked good at all without these 2 in the lineup

westbrook's brother apparently said that he didn't think brian would play and that his injury was more serious than the eagles are letting on, although he does play for the redskins so who knows what his motivation was behind the comments

and although andrew's says he is "really upbeat" and "optimistic" he still hasn't practiced yet this week

Det +3.5 -110 1U.

Looking at the current power rankings CHI at about 13, DET at the bottom OK not good it only gets better? CHI has the #1 redzone defense. I am thinking the way DET uses those big recievers and Kitna airing out against CHI secondary some of these TD might not come from the redzone but further out. Kitna is day to day he should be a go and DET appears to have mostly day to day injuries including Kitna. DET will put up the points here. The test will be DET defense, the games are close most of the game then that D just falls appart . Now lets talk about a team that took both games in 07 from CHI and will be home in the dome this Sunday with Matt Millen fired maybe we get just a little more from some players as DET does play hard at home. They will be playing a CHI team comming of a tough SUN night game . If DET is to win a game this year it is at home as a 3.5 dog comming off a bye rested . When I capped the game I had it at 3 and i will take the hook with it. Good luck all.

Yea, you can check out the sports betting FAQ and it has some sites to look for public plays. Also, just by looking at your pool numbers you can get a good sense of public leans, but I am unsure if your pool takes into account spreads.

I use someones excel sheet that has web query and refreshes lines and leans for my numbers, but I do not know which site it pulls from.

Does anyone like Seattle at +7/8 (+9 at BetJamaica!)? I know the Giants have been on a roll and are coming off a bye week, but Bobby Engram and Deion Branch are both probable and should play so we could potentially get the Seahawks offense that we were expecting at the beginning of the season from this point onward.

Plus, Eli Manning is due for a bad game. It's inevitable.

I love the Giants here. Brandon Jacobs will run all over them.Hasselbeck will be a sitting duck against NYG defense.

I can agree with the Hasselbeck part of your comment, but what makes you think Brandon Jacobs is going to run over them? They have arguably one of the top ten rushing defenses this year, definitely in the top fifteen at least. And they've done it against the following murderers row of running backs:

Marshawn Lynch (76 yards rushing, 1 TD)
Frank Gore (61 yards rushing, 1 TD)
Stephen Jackson (66 yards, 0 TD)

I like Brandon Jacobs and all, but I just don't see how he's going to succeed where the others have failed to crack 80 yards and 1 TD. And I'll definitely take 80 yards and 1 TD from Jacobs if the Seahawks are getting 8-9 points.
