I'm the acting host of my usual pool (the guy that usually runs it has stuff going on so i'm hosting it this season) hence knowing the pick %s early

It's a small sample tho as only 60-something in pool and only 40-something have tipped so far

Sounds like the host would have an advantage all the time then.

2 slam dunk picks this week - Buffalo & LA Rams. You'll use neither the rest of the year. Piled up on Buffalo.

Put about as much on the Texans as I did on the Rams. Didn't want to be on only 2 teams. Was eyeing Panthers for several weeks, but going to load up on them in Week 2 and save the rest for 10, 12 & 16.

If you took New England or are taking Pittsburgh this week, thanks for playing

Do you weigh future value over popularity of the pick? I do agree, Buffalo has 0 value, unless the Jets are so bad that Buffalo will be a pretty decent road favorite vs them in NY, but doubtful.

It's a combination of both and if pools have double picks weeks at some point. And New England, Atlanta, Buffalo & Pittsburgh all have to much value across the season to be wasting on Week 1.

I have 2x Buf and 1x Pit for my pools.

The pool i'm hosting had a week 1 breakdown of 28 Buffalo, 11 Pit, 10 Atl, 9 Hou, 7 Rams, 4 Caro and 1 each for Dal/Den/Cin

No, the picks are revealed after everyone's tipped. I just happen to know the percentages early since i'm the one they submit the picks to for that pool. My tips for that pool are locked in and sent to a non-player for verification prior to receiving picks from anyone else at the start of the week.

Close call for Atlanta in week 1, Houston take out a decent chunk.

Week 2 i'm liking Baltimore or Oakland depending on how much we value win % vs future value (obv Balt have less future value but Oak has a higher win %), i'm likely to end up taking a combination of Balt and Oak for my entries

Arizona open -7.5 at Pinny too but not super keen to pick them away after their performance in week 1, Caro too but I think they have too much future value (along with Seattle and their -12) although looking at the draw this might be the best week for Caro unless we want them late in the season against the Jets. I'm guessing those will be the five heavily picked games this week in most pools.

It's still early, but Baltimore looks like the 3rd most popular pick this week. I'm not saying the value there. Even with half the field on them I still like Oakland best. They'll lose about half as often as Baltimore and will likely get under 50% of plays.

If you take Seattle in Week 2, you don't know what you're doing.

Another very easy week of picking. Lots of very good picks depending on what route you want to go.
