I'd pick Vitor.

Just read a tweet that said Hendo is officially a free agent. Was this fight really for his job?

I was thinking to do this and it seems good in retrospect but you couldn't really bet against Hendo's chin to go down so quick.

I had a terrible night but was happy with a KO victory to get me just over even for the card.

It was the last fight on his contract. UFC never offered him a new deal prior to this, they told him that they wanted to see the outcome of this fight before offering him a deal. I'm assuming Henderson is taking a big pay cut if he wants to continue his career.

He wasn't released or cut or anything like that if that's what you were wondering.

I hope he gets a new deal done, still enjoy watching him fight and think he could have easily gotten the decision over Machida or Evans.

Hendo reportedly told Dana backstage after the fight that he wants a new deal with the UFC and Dana said they'd talk in a few weeks. I'm hopeful it'll get done, I want Dan to finish off in the UFC, no interest in seeing him in lesser organizations fighting relative nobodies.

Sure he COULD have gotten decisions over Rashad and Machida. They also would have been incorrect decisions but hey.

lol @ that Mutante decision being a split. Seemed extremely clear.

Vitor outroided Henderson. Not really surprising but he easily exploited Henderson's poor striking fundamentals.

His timing is so good right now, competitive with anyone at 185 (in Brazil)

He knocked out a 43 year old ya'll. Guy still gets wrecked by Weidman/Jacare/Silva. I'd take Machida as well but that's probably 50/50...

I'd take him over Jacare and Silva right now (in Brazil). Think Weidman would get him down.

Also take him over Machida (as Machida doesn't beat strikers)

I agree he beats Jacare, but loses to Weidman, Silva and probably Machida

I don't think the issue with Hendo is they don't like the way he fights, they clearly love showing the "H-bomb" highlights over and over, the issue is that he was likely making far too much for a guy who won't be a title contender. I see this being very similar to a Jon Fitch sort of situation... He's still very good, but he began to underperform his contract.

Yeah, they def were loving the result here, they can easily strongarm Hendo into a more company-friendly contract now. It's either that or he hits the Bellator road.

Vitor is so cool. He'd make a good Tony Montana if they ever remake Scarface. Crazy mother****er.

-6u for the card. Man, Vitor looks fantastic, such killer instinct, has he ever failed to finish someone after he rocks them? I think this Vitor would be a lot closer with Silva, especially after we saw Weidman KO Silva.

Anyway, 4u on Rashad at -173, I expect the odds to shift towards -250 rashad or something at some point close to the fight.

Was hoping for a Hendo upset, but what can you do. Its too bad how things go. Was hyped to see him take on Jones before everything fell apart. The UFC (and Dana obv) didn't like his price line and if they decide they want him back after 3 straight losses (lets not get caught up on the splits) they definitely have the negotiating power.

I don't dislike Vitor, but he's had his shots at both MW and LHW and I heavily dislike guys with big names getting continuous shots. Yeah, yeah, he's won his last x number of fights by way of x, but I don't get hyped when Belfort challenges for the strap.

Yeah, he isn't really a headliner who sells ppvs to the casual fan. That will kill him.

lol as if rony jason's night wasnt bad enough he nightcapped it with this

"He punched a wall and had to be transported to the hospital," White told MMAjunkie.com "That's exactly what happened. He punched his arm through the wall and sliced the back of his arm wide open."

and im sure im in the minority here but i think vitor should have to win another fight to get a title shot, i thought his recent run was a lot more impressive then it actually is.

last 4 wins at 185

rockhold - solid win but have yet to see him win vs ufc competition
bisping - solid win but bisping always loses the big fights
anthony johnson - aj missed weight and lookd really really sluggish and bad
akiyama - lost his last 4 in ufc

and before akiyama was the loss to silva

along with a win over hendo and a loss to jones at 205

the one thing vitor has going is there isnt really any1 with a better resume at 185

jacare has won 9 of 10 and 5 in a row but lost decision to rockhold whom vitor ko'd
machida prlly needs 1-2 more wins at 185

Should also be remembered he lasted 4 rounds with Jones and nearly sub'd him. As well as the good performance the UFC owes him for fighting at 205 when others (Machida) refused.

He'll get the shot

lol he had 30 good seconds against Jones outta 20 minutes.

Also, Jones is literally like the worst matchup possible for Hendo, he would have had zero chance.
