i mean listen, if i was fighting and you told me i had a way to win w/o taking very much damage i'm snap doing that.

but for someone who is supposedly one of the best fighters alive...yuck. obviously you can bank it, still tho..

Well Diaz had some brief success there, GSP looks a bit tired?

30-27 GSP although that round was closer

Diaz is just a worthless human being swinging at GSP after the bell. **** the Diaz brothers.

GSP's chin looked kinda soft during Diaz small fury

Yeah I could see Diaz stealing a round possibly via cardio. 30-27 easy tho.

If that wasn't the ME with 20k people in the stands that paid for it and $60 PPV I'm pretty sure thats a DQ.

Not to mention borderline assault.

I'm not dissing GSP for playing it safe, I'd done the same in his shoes. But yeah, you can't really be considered the best of all time, p4p king when there's other champions finishing fights.

GSP not looking like he has the cardio and aggression he's had in some fights, he's still winning easily but maybe he's nearing the end of his prime?

gsp looking worse and worse every fight hendricks the guy to beat him or whoever after that

GSP actually spoke on this once and it made me respect him more. He basically said he does what he can and utilizes his skills to the best of his ability. He doesn't have the power or Rampage, the pure skill of a Silva or the freak athleticism of a Jon Jones, he just uses what he has in his toolbox.

It atleast made me respect him for saying he is doing the best he can although I'd never pay a dime to see him fight, thats for sure.

Well that should be 40-36 GSP barring bad judging in R3

Will still have a small sweat on U45.5 though even if GSP wins r5 but i'm a big fav

Obv GSP to finish would be a fish bet thought it was good but he isnt even trying to

lol? GSP looks great. Better everywhere. 50-45 incoming gg Swoop congrats on the big score.

Indeed, GSP is winning, but he's not that convincing(not in the fight, mean more he used to crush guys with such ease, and he's still winning this easily, just something seems off). Your bet looking good swoop.

in before diaz does something to get himself cut from the ufc.

Imo GSP should just go nuts now and finish strong, to leave some kind impression of excitement.

Think they will hug it out actually. Or Diaz will just run out of the cage.

Whooooo Swoop.

GSP still too good.
MMA Thread Quote
03-17-2013 , 12:45 AM
Well that was pretty much as expected, only I thought GSP would try harder to finish it

I'd better get the obvious 50-45 on at least 2 cards or i'll be sad. I mean GSP won all 5 rounds convincingly but 3 was somewhat close

I dunno I never looked at ability to finish a fight as an indicator of greatness.

I look at it more in terms of risk vs reward with regards to getting the win.

You want to minimize your risk (not take damage and likely hood of getting submitted or Ko'd) and maximize your reward (getting the win).

If you look at it this way, gsp is probably the best. Jon jones will probably end up surpassing but needs a bigger sample. Anderson finishes fights, but I think he takes too much unnecessary risk and damage.

If gsp and anderson each fought 100 fights (not against each other). Gsp would probably end up with the better record because of his conservative strategy.

Wasn't even that close swoop, think it clear 10-9(3rd round).

he shouldn't. they would have given gsp an immediate rematch.

Oh I agree but the judges tonight were bad and I was worried they'd screw it up

Boring GSP fight is boring, but whatever, at least I only lose small for the card now
