Its usually a bad sign when a line moves hard against the guy you like. I was leaning Noons but that line move worries me.

I'd lean Noons since he Couture hasn't impressed me but the problem is Noons hasn't impressed me lately either and is more likely to be leaving his prime as Couture enters it

Nothing at the strikeforce card stands out, i'll be waiting for the next two UFC cards both of which look good for betting.

Doesn't really say anything. I mean Fedor and Cain look like bums when u look at their bodytypes but they have incredible cardio(more so cain) and were/are destroying ppl.

This card seems like a showcase to get wins for the fighters the UFC wants to pick up with Noons/Couture and Marquardt/Saff being the only likely competitive ones

Doesn't mean it won't be fun but when the average odds on the card seem to be -400 it's probably going to be fairly one sided

I wouldn't be shocked to see only 0-1 underdogs win across the whole card but I guess it's MMA and anything can happen

Well if you look at the roaster,
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...29:_4_fighters
there's not really lot of well known names as far as I know. Though tbh, I only watch UFC, so I really don't know any of the up and comers.

Threw some parlays on big favorites, various including Jacare, Cormier, Barnett, Cormier and Barnett ITD, Mousasi, and Kennedy. Only slimmer bets are MOusasi -230 and Marq TKO +180.

Wow. So glad I didn't bet Noons, disgustingly bad decision. 30-27 I thought, only close round was the third.

Wheee, Couture gets it, finally I suck out on a split decision.

Had decent amount on noons but have ppl over so didnt see every sec of fight. Looked like noons was winning whenever I was watching, can someone elaborate on the scores/decision?

Noons beat the hell out of him for the first two rounds. Outlanded by a significant margin and much more damaging strikes. Third round fairly back and forth. Haven't seen a soul on twitter who had that for Couture.

I feel like I sucked out too but someone disagrees:

Not really. This was the same as the Machida Rampage dec. 2 close rounds with a dominant round. Noons would def win under pride/dream rules but not that surprising of an outcome here.

lol which rounds were close? Noons was landing many more strikes and way harder strikes. Couture swung and missed a lot. This was Garcia/Phan if anything.

What a talent Jacare is...pretty excited to see him make the UFC jump. He's probably a top 3 MW in the world, he would tool fighters like Sonnen and Belfort. Only real weakness is an iffy chin. Thought he ate a bad decision against Rockhold too, though it was a close fight.

Rewatch 1st and 3rd. Couture landed more leg strikes and was more diverse. Noons countered. It was close.

Sure he landed more leg strikes. He also got hit in the face really hard way more. First was not particularly close lol Noons completely took command in the middle of the round.

There's a reason 90% of the MMA world scored that for Noons, including plenty of 30-27s

You do understand that 30-27's can be given despite close rounds right?

Of course.

So to be clear, you think that COuture could justifiably have won the first round despite being outstruck by both volume and power?
MMA Thread Quote

I don't remember the stats for the first round, but he wasn't outstruck by much. And I don't see why you keep insisting Noons landed harder shots... both the kick by Couture at the end and the right hand were harder than anything Noons landed. And he had hard a few hard leg kicks before that too, and moved forward. So yes, it's justifiable for him to win the rd.
