I'm on Poirier+250 (capped as conor-180)
Calderwood-115 (-150)
2-0 +3.5u
Onto next week where we will probably be on ubereem+150 (Capped at pickem)
Btw I should mention I'm not good at this whole capped thing and would welcome some back and forth banter as to why you think +150 is efficient or the line should be +180.
I agree with Khabib's assessment. Conor in 2, but if it goes into the 3rd and 4th round then Poirier can beat him. Even if it goes into championship rounds, Conor is still the favorite though. Poirier really needs to turn it into a dog fight and that's going to be hard to do against McGregor who has such great distance management and speed/athleticism.
Of course Poirier's got a great team behind him and a great coach so anything's possible but I'm definitely buying the Conor hype right now. There is a high likelihood that he makes it look easy.
I posted this to jinx Conor. What a great fight! Loved watching all the McGregor fanboys cry at the sports bar.

That's one excuse, and the other excuse I heard is that he's not hungry anymore. Or maybe it's just that 155lbs is absolutely stacked with killers up top and frankly Conor's track record at 155+lbs is not very good. Even a win over Eddie Alvarez by itself is not all that impressive.

Chandler is a dangerous fighter. I think that fight makes a lot of sense as well as Poirier vs Conor 3 (although I suppose Conor could fight Nate or Diego Sanchez or whatever much more winnable fight he wants).
Personally I think Oliveira is the most dangerous fight but Khabib should be a big favorite against all of them but wtf do I know (clearly not much).
2/2 for me having only bet on the comain & main events, though I'm annoyed at myself for being indecisive and missing out on much better prices. I might celebrate by ordering a bottle of Dustin's hot sauce.
Me too. Casual fan but figured one of either the last two dogs would hit and at the very least surely there is value there based on where the money usually goes in these type of events. Maybe prices were better at a point but we got better than the opening lines.

I didn't pay too much attention to the comain line but sadly the main event line got way worse for me, going from 4.2 to 3.5 by the end of it.
Going forward I would take Olivera vs anyone not named Khabib at 155 and the best part of that is I expect he'd be priced as the underdog vs any likely opponent.

Conor did look aged to me and the fact he hasn't fought much has to play some role in why he looked human. Dustin fought smart and had a good game plan as well.
If it was the Conor who fought Eddy, I guess it could of ended up differently but tbh I dont' think Conor will be able to get to that level again.
Conor will pick the easy fight next a few tune up fights perhaps, honestly though I don't think he has it anymore.
I like Oliveira as well, I have to think he will be losing most rounds until he doesn't, until he shockingly subs Khabib, I guess.
The fight with Chandler intrigues me because he is a strong wrestler and has power, so I want to know if a similar style to Khabib is good enough to compete vs Khabib.
Conor aged in his inactivity? Dustin has been going through war after war after war and they are the same age yet Conor is the one that aged? Conor is in phenomenal shape and is much better conditioned for 155lbs today than he was against Eddie Alvarez. This Conor would have smoked Eddie Alvarez too.
No offense to Eddie Alvarez but it's pretty clear to me that Dustin Poirier today is head and shoulders above that Eddie Alvarez. Not just Dustin though, all the top guys in the LW division. Justin Gaethje, a guy that Alvarez beat just 3 years has improved by leaps and bounds since that fight.
I didn't even think Conor looked bad in this fight. He was winning the fight vs a dude that had lost only 2 out of 13 fights vs killers in the toughest division in MMA. Dustin compromised Conor's leg and that was that, but Conor was Conor for the most part.
The reason the Chandler fight intrigues you is the same reason people wanted to see Gaethje fight Khabib and we saw what happened there. 10 of Chandler's 22 wins have come by KO/TKO. 19 of Gaethje's 22 wins have come by KO/TKO. Chandler has a puncher's chance but that's it. None of these guys have wrestling anywhere close to Khabib's. Khabib would dominate any grappling/clinch situations, taking Chandler down at will when given the opportunity.
In Vegas now, hammered ribas for 640 to win 200 lol. Got cold feet and didn’t touch Poirier bc I’m in love with chalk. Lol mistakes on mistakes. Kinda sucked bc I was in a poker tourney during ribas fight and saw the 1st round looked favorable for her so thought it was looking good. It’s ufc though so things can change on a dime.
Guess it’s good I hit a pick 4 in horse racing earlier in the day for a bit over 1k though on a $100 ticket. Nfl tomorrow! Don’t lose green bay packers!
Poor card for me all up, hopefully next one goes better. Had a nice run for a few months there but two losing cards in a row, hopefully do better next time
Chandler uses his wrestling, I never seen Gaethje use his wrestling. The reason Chandler has so many Ko's is because he does have a ton of power and people are scared of the takedown.
I think Chandlers wrestling is a lot better than Gaethje's prob the best Khabib will face, that's why I like the match up.
Nobody ever shoots on Khabib but I think Chandler will shoot and he can def put him on his back.
We've seen Khabib struggle with the wrestler way back, what's his name, the guy that looked like he was on roids.
The same reason why we liked Tony or now Oliveira, if they do get taken down there's that what if moment, they fight great of their backs and can find subs.
Thanks, yeah Tibau was trouble for Khabib, very close fight.
Also, not all fighters are the same, while both are similar in age, 1 can age quicker than the other.
He looks older in his face, he could of lived a lot less healthy these last few years. He could of been training with a lot less motivation and determination.
Because it's literally the dumbest thing you could try to do vs Khabib.

You had to go eight and a half years back to Khabib's 2nd fight in the UFC. Khabib wasn't anywhere close to his prime yet and hadn't learned to put it all together whereas Gleison Tibau was a grizzled vet in the prime of his career in his 16th UFC fight. And 2 fights later, Khabib took an All-American wrestler down a record 21 times.

A fighter like Chandler can catch him with a punch and a fighter like Oliveira could catch him with a submission during a transition (as Poirier nearly did) but if they end up against the cage or on the ground there's no reason to think that Khabib won't control them.
What I'd like to see from Conor is volume/activity. He's had 3 MMA fights in 4+ years. He was planning to have 3 fights last year alone. However, I'm sure he was expecting to make $50 to $100 million a fight. I'm having doubts that he will ever put in a significant amount of volume. Like, would he be willing to take fights for relative peanuts in order to build himself back up?
It would be very interesting to see what Conor would do if he lost his next fight. Conor is held up on this pedestal like he shouldn't ever lose but this is the fight game and he's proven to be far from a perfect fighter. He could very well lose his next fight, and losing 2 in a row or 3 out of 4 is not that unusual in this game. I think the fighter in Conor would want to continue to fight, but perhaps the businessman in Conor will think it's just not worth it.
Based on the press conference last night it sounds like Khabib will probably stay retired so I guess this is a moot point but Khabib trains with some of the best wrestlers in the world on a daily basis. Trying to take him down is literally giving him the exact type of fight that he wants.
The loss is the best dream builder... All the young fighters will see not just the win/loss but the glimmer of the yellow brick path
dustin looks like a 26 year old! those multiple 12 rounders conor has weathered, the sugar through the engine block, the cage remains true above all, what a gift conors story has given to the world amazing. he delivered another precious and true chapter.
proving tolerances never more sharp, crisp, that UFC means some thing.. ultimate
The art of becoming is a rope every one gets given some decide to pull as much rope as they can each day, others not so much or to put it on hold,
Dustin grabbed a hold of that mma rope, and never let go
khabib's read was good, he is going to know when it is time, when its right to come back, every one will know, like water hitting rocks at bottom after coming down from top of mountain, his foe will come, which is glad for him :-)

It all depends what Conor wants, money or legacy/competition. He doesn't need more money. Plenty of fights for him, Gaethje, Nate 3, Poirier 3 if he gets a win, even Oliveira, potentially Khabib 2 if Khabib comes back and Conor gets a win, etc
He can happily retire and be set for life or more likely he'd get bored i'd imagine he wants the competition so he probably takes Nate 3 as a warmup bout although Gaethje would be a very fun fight too he has two trilogy bouts available with guys he's 1-1 with if he wants them
conor could do some surprise Irish school teacher zoom meeting break ins , teachers that are having a hard time with detractors, they say hold on a moment ill be right back and then conor slides in and lays waste to the kids not pulling their weight :-) , he is a national treasure, all the kids would be mind blown forever? looking at their work differently, a new.
Oh wow Michael Johnson as a fav on the next card in a fight he should win; I wonder how he finds a way to be winning every moment of the fight until he randomly gets finished this time lol
Been high on Dariush lately but Ferreira will be a tough fight need to think on that one some more
