20-17 Glover

r1 close though given the Santos rocking him early etc

Santos needs to land something big on the feet and circle away etc to be live here

If he gets taken down again he prob wont make it thru the round

Wow, Santos emptied the tank, Glover gets him down, Santos gives up mentally

Sick fight tho swings, Santos had him badly hurt twice

I was thinking Santos should have possibly let him up after the initial GNP finish attempt failed while he was still rocked. Sigh

Lost a bit back, won small for the card still, but meh

I don't get it, why the f go to the ground with Glover?

So pissed at Santos. Ridiculous the way he lost that fight.

Man, Santos use to be my fav fighter, so sad to see how badly his injury has taken him out of the UFC. Luckily, I did not wager any of my gambling tokens tonight, Glover can be damn scary.

just horrible fight IQ. santos should never lose this fight. when you dont finish him on the initial gnp, just let him up and finish him.

If this were an olympic boxing match then Boser would have won. Not much of a place for point fighting in a real fight though. Sure, if you aren't taking any punishment then it's a clear path to victory but Boser was clearly taking more punishment than Arlovski.

6 out of 16 media outlets had Boser winning it, all 29-28.

I think it was more his gas tank than grappling although he def didn't look like a black belt

He defended fine from bottom for 8 mins or so until he emptied the tank in r3 going for the finish then when Glover got a dominant position he clearly wanted a way out

Santos def needs to work on his TDD though if he's ever going to be champ. On the feet he is deadly, even in a losing effort today had Glover badly rocked twice but needed to let him up after the initial GnP for the finish failed and resume striking rather than getting into grappling exchanges

Might come back with something on Barcelos-Taha if I am watching. Any thoughts on that fight?

Good luck everybody
I knew I was screwed when I tuned in right at the start of the Boser fight and they said "It's been a big night for the favorites".

Down 2u

As I think about that fight, it's clear to me that using leg kicks as a way to open up cleaner head shots is good, but leg kicks alone aren't going to get it done. Arlovski needed to combo off the leg kick instead of standing back and admiring his work.

I'm also definitely of the opinion that HW is my least favorite MMA weight class. Terrible fight to watch.

heavyweight is great if its one of the 5 good fighters fighting. everything else is borderline unwatchable. the tension of a high stakes heavyweight fight is great, but yeah the lower guys are brutal.

In tonights Contender series I got Natan Levy beating Santana 1.25u to win 1u

they both have good grappling and submissions but Levy is vastly superior at striking while Santana is very tall and has reach. If Levy gameplans this properly and keeps it on the feet mixing head and body damage he should easily outclass last minute (24 hours) replacement Santana who should not have 3rd round cardio being such a last minute.

at -125 i see some value.

Crazy I was trying to pump a few bets live on Mariusz (main event) after the second round and the lines were backwards at +145 , my book would not let me kept cancelling them and eventually they changed the lines to -145 and -175 in the 3rd.

Lucky too as that last decision was a brutal robbery giving it to Souza unanimously was criminal. One judge even gave him 30-27 which made absolutely no sense since Mariusz easily won that 2nd round and the 3rd imo.

Even Dana told everyone the judges got that one wrong when he didnt give him a contract.

In the past we have seen judges sleep and text during fights, I sometimes wonder if sometimes they simply just get the names wrong. I think in the main event they might have.

nice hit on levy, i've been too lazy to do contender series lately and it seems like the limits have gone down on pinnacle anyways. almost blind followed you on levy. i saw the last fight, i thought 1-2 were clear to the brazilian guy. the white guy had a lot of top control in the 2nd but literally landed 0 damaging shots, no sub attempts. he was lit up on the feet early, had to defend a few subs, and honestly was getting hit way harder from bottom than anything he landed on top.

I got 1.85u to win 1u on Amosov tonight. This is an insane fight, glad to see Bellator not protecting their undefeated prospects and having them fight each other. I just think Amosov has more tools on the feet and also kicks. If he can kick the legs it will take its toll on Storley later in the fight. I think it goes to a decision like 80% of the time too.

I’m on storley fairly big, been building my position all week. I guess it goes without saying it just depends how well amosov defends the takedowns. He did well vs Ruth but Ed ruth has never impressed me in mma. Storley has a much more functional mma game. way better top game than ruth, better entries into takedowns. Storley has been as dominant in mma as you could possibly be in his 11 fights, but Amosov is the best grappler he’s ever faced ainec. i'm sold on storley though, and i just dont think amosov is dangerous enough of a striker to keep logan off him.
