Okami? He usually fights pretty smart.

Awful fight so far, probably a 10-10 first but I imagine the judges gave it to PDF for jamming Thompson against the cage lol

Fuxk I was about to parlay his ass and bet de fries in vegas took too much time at the buffet

or he eventually gets the tap that works too

de fries can beat terrible fighters, but he'll get KO'd standing by anyone with average striking and average TDD

De Fries is at least a fluid athlete I'll give him that, it's somewhat rare at HW.

Glad he got the finish so we can get on to fighters I actually want to see.

He stands sometimes too much when he should be using his wrestling more, mainly meaning his last fight vs Boetsch and Anderson Silva. Vs Silva what he should have been doing is what Chael was doing and tried to do in round 2, 2nd fight.

Seriously, is the quality so bad in the ufc that they take in people like Oli Thompson, I mean, do they even look at the guy before they hire them, is there actually no better fighters than this in the world to recruit?

I wouldnt mind seeing those guys used to build up exciting lower-mid level HWs like Barry though.

He's coming off a loss, so give him Thompson to get Thompson out of the UFC and get Barry back with a highlight reel win so he can face another mid-upper mid level striker coming off a win as that's always an entertaining fight

I'd love to see Struve tap De Fries but he's too far above him in the rankings if he beats Miocic or will be coming off a loss if he loses to Miocic so that doesn't work. I'd like to see it anyway if he loses to Miocic, or if he beats Miocic give De Fries to Mark Hunt, either he gets a miracle TD and another finish and can be fed to someone higher, or the Mark Hunt revival bandwagon can continue

He's english, and they need some heavyweights to be on a 'win streak' so they can be used to build the actual contenders

He was crushing Boetsch on the feet too. No real need for takedowns there.

Against Silva, I mean I def understand not just barreling in for takedowns, that's the most dangerous finisher in the world on the feet.

Pretty glad I decided not to make any significant play on this next fight, not really liking any of the lines, although Grispi should win probably. Hopefully we see an exciting finish. Lauzon's going to make or break my card anyway unless I make a last minute Machida bet

Woooow a north-south.

Glad I stayed away from Grispi -_-

Sonnen has shown the way u beat Anderson, and that just pepper him with takedowns to try and take him down. I mean, the worst thing u could do is try to play the distance game like Okami did.

Considering Okami, I just think he should have played it safe and tried to outwrestle Boetsch/press him against the cage, bc he loses more often in the standup then in the ground game, especially since he had the two round 10-9.

No really big fan of Davis, I def hope Prado has awesome TDD's and KO's Davis.

sonnen could tell people about joey beltran's status as an elite contender and people would believe him. he's a natural commentator for casual fans

0.2u sweat bet on the under 1.5 rounds at +111, probably not a smart bet but gives me something to sweat once davis gets the takedown

Pretty bs that Prado faces Davis in his debut, Davis just fought for the nr 1 contender spot and now he faces a guy who is making his debut w no reputation what so ever. Pretty big mismatch.

Well, not completely, fighters usually get a 3 match tryout, and if they lose 2 then they get cut so if he loses this and another one, then he's pretty much out probably, whereas if he would have debuted against a low to mid-low fighter, he would have had a higher chance.

this - if he wins even if he has a punchers chance its worth it since he'll instantly be considered top 10 (unless he gets dominated and gets a lucky punch in r3 or whatever)

if he loses, his next fight will be against a low level LHW and it's as if he's debuting since no one expects him to beat davis on debut... if he wins, he's instantly a contender and probably only 2 more wins away from a title shot
