Business wise this is not the winner the UFC wanted as Matthews is more marketable and international fighters have added value for them.
Vick will end his career with zero top 10 wins unless he gets a lot better. LW is too deep. Can you imagine him beating someone like Tony Ferguson? I can't. I'd probably take Matthews in a rematch at evens. He's huge for the division and has nasty chokes and thats it really

I do think he'll have a long career in the UFC and win over 50%, but I don't see him being a contender.

I'm on Perosh here so O'Connell is a super lock.

Every card where I put over 10u in play I get crushed, every card I put less than 5u in play I win every bet this year

perosh by sub

Hopefully

If he can get a takedown he should get the sub

I was about to pile on Oconnell and switch sides but ran out of time lol

Stoppage was premature, but it was over

Whittaker's going to dominate then get caught, and then Hunt will drop Stipe and fall into a sub or something stupid, and if that happens I will never bet on MMA again

Yeah he was probably going to get finished but I mean his hands were up and he was defending and hadn't been dropped. Definitely premature

If these last two lose if I tell the thread i'm betting on the next card it's up to all of you to tell me I suck at betting on MMA and to tail someone else's picks instead.

Feeling a bit better now? i.e Whittaker.

Hey we finally got one

At least my two biggest bets of the card were both correct imo based on what we saw (Matthews getting caught in a fight he was winning, and Whittaker wins easily)

Still, card is a disaster, but if Hunt manages to win i'll at least only lose a reasonable amount

On the plus side for the UFC they now have an Australian they can justifiably put on a PPV main card who isn't a drug cheat (Lombard) or a prospect who loses fights he's supposed to win (Matthews). I guess Hunt is an adopted Australian too even if he's actually from NZ

Yeah, but it's still going to be a losing card even if Hunt wins.

It makes me feel slightly better about identifying spots although I still may lay off betting for the next couple cards; I mean Ellis, Matthews Grujic and Andrews were all close to victory in their fights, Ellis got overaggressive going for a sub, Matthews got cocky, then got poked in the eye then got caught in a fight he was winning; Grujic had it won in r2 and was robbed by the bell then would have won if he landed the takedown he was close to in mid r3 and Andrews opponent may have tapped unless I imagined that and even if he didn't he was close to finishing in r1. I still want to see whether Scott tapped against Andrews as it looked like he did to me in real time.

Perosh and Kelly were clearly bad bets but both were smallish

Added another 1u on Hunt; I do think he's a dog but cap it closer to +150 so may as well give myself a chance to nearly get even for the card if he wins and only lose a small amount

I'm down and I'm chasing so screw it:

Stipe Miocic/Mark Hunt Over 1.5 (-175) $525.00 for $300.00

and because you said you really think Hunt's going to win and added more I added an extra half unit as well, I think I can now get about to about even if Hunt wins

I think I have about 2.5u on Hunt now at an average of something like +203ish

Hunt by KO at 2:37 of r2, we're all agreed?

I think Hunt can win this via stamina if need be. Miocic gassed against a soul crushed JDS... where as Hunt still had a tank in r5 in a brutal war vs. a TRT'd Bigfoot.

I hope so. Struve did KO Miocic so if Hunt connects... he just needs to not get picked apart at range, but if Hunt's chin holds we're in good shape, gogogo

hunt being a greasy weasel on the ground, miocic cant hold him down

It's a worry that Miocic takes him down easily but Hunt defended well

If Hunt can turn it into an in close quarters slugfest though he'll win

10-9 Miocic but this is unlikely to go the distance

Stipe's a different fighter from when he fought Struve. So much better now.

Need a miracle KO now. Go Hunt!
