Of course he has. The Jason high fight onwards he is a different animal. I mean it was just a year before his loss to Khabib he was getting out struck by Dunham.

What I meant was in his last 8 fights he has looked great. When he lost to Khahib he also looked great. I don't think he improved much since he KO'd Cerrone or Henderson.

The reality is Pettis is overrated and always has been. Melendez isn't that good but showed that the Guida win wasn't a fluke as Pettis can't keep people from backing him into the fence.

RDA is really good and has been for a long time. But let's be real, Pettis seems like he read his own headlines and quit training hard, this is two straight fights he really hasn't looked all that good. As Nurm said on twitter, probably partying too much. Jones looked like **** too after he went all in on parties.

Really makes you appreciate how GSP never once looked less than 100% after he made it to the top, just kept training like he had nothing.

Brutality.

Gonna watch some Netflix and try to sleep.

RDA was on beast mode tonight. Would love to say Anthony got tagged early and it changed the fight but that is not true, he got dominated the entire fight.

Hard to see your favorite fighter get solved, smart kid tho made a lot of $ and will continue to do so but Khabib and RDA might just be his kryptonite in this division.

I guess that Aldo super fight will never happen

Thought of truth in this. (although he said he slowed his training down for the Diaz and Hendriks fights)

The tough thing about being on top is you're whole life you dream to be a champion to be rich and famous and when you get there you want to enjoy the life... which makes you suffer in defending your championship. I love the grinders and give much respect to people like Bernard Hopkins in boxing who held a 27 inch waist line well past 40 to keep the belt instead of enjoying life.

Agreed, you just have to have so much respect for the athletes who have that type of drive. Anyone can bust their ass when they have nothing, it takes someone with truly special motivation to go as hard when they are at the top as they did getting there.

UFC and all Pettis's sponsors must hate this turn of events, Pettis is good for marketing, RDA is not, RDA will just go down as just another Brazilian which is a shame, he utterly humiliated Pettis. Hard to stay on top. Pettis weakness has always been wrestlers, he doesn't posses the same sprawl game like Jose Aldo to negate the wrestlers and he backs up way too much against the fence. I think all or at least most of the champions we have are either being the agressors most of the time, or an equal amount of time.

Lost 1.6 units on this card. Enjoyed the event thought RDA would be a live dog but what a performance although I don't think he is holding onto that belt for too long.
Don't think I have got a bet in worse then my bet on Esparza she didn't look like she had any chance at all in there thought she would have faired a lot better in the grappling.

I think Khabib is going to get steamed against Cerrone when the buildup to that fight starts getting underway. Might try and spread 20 to 30 units across a few books and get a big trade on the price change. Cerrone is pretty popular though so I imagine there will be some resistance to the sharp money that comes in Khabib.

Haha, I keep forgetting the jesus factor when I'm capping fights.

Thanks again to this thread, convinced me to take a second look and chuck a couple of units on RDA along with Dariush early. Was still a very profitable card even with a couple of losses in Esparza/Nelson (still happy with +190 on Nelson).

It's a while away but I just saw the current line for Rory, seems like he's getting steamed and is currently -205 on 5Dimes, so much for my hope he'd open around +100 and I could load up!

Bet againts Pacheco last time too. It went well. Didn't get why she was the favorite. Same this time.
The teen brawler didn't do too well againts the 46-0 muay thai wrecking machine. Nelson was live all the way. Okay bet. Reem was just too calm. Fought a perfect fight for him. Didn't take any unnecessary risks. Brown was a bad bet. Perfect match up for Hendricks. Some one who blindly plots forward and is easy to takedown. It was nice to fade Cruickshank. Watching him shoot on Masvidal couple of fights ago made me angry. This time I was very happy to see him try to take down Dariush. Showtime did not show up at all. Don't know why. Maybe partying, maybe seeing his little brother getting his ass kicked.

With 20/20 vision. Joanna would have been a nice pick. Could have picked up, that he had a decent take down defence, from his earlier fights.

2015 total : +8u

It will be interesting to see who they match Showtime up with next.

Does the UFC hate Nate Diaz enough right now to feed him to Pettis?

Does anyone think the UFC should try to add Joanna (SW champ) to the card in Poland next month? Would seem to make good business sense (in fact this fight should have been on the card).

Really nice to get a text from my brother in law saying that my father in law had tears in his eyes watching her destroy Esparza. (They're Polish!)

They talked about it at the press conference. Joanna didn't seem to have much interest in being on it, and Dana said a month is too soon.

There's no clear #1 contender, I suppose Gadelha has a case as their fight was really close and went to a SD, but the other likely contenders are either booked for fights or need another win or two first

Penne seems like the logical choice. Claudia, Esparza and Rose are all coming off losses.

After Nate's humiliating loss to RDA he should be lucky if he has a job. Pettis vs. Alvarez as everyone seems to be locked up atm. If Cerrone gets injured perhaps he'd step in to fight Khahib.

I'm seeing Ryan Laflare owning Maia this weekend. Gas tank for Maia is low and Laflare puts a lot of weight on people when on top. Obv. a r1 sub is possible but I think Laflare can win this ITD as Maia fades.

I think Frankie could move up and beat Pettis.

(Not that anyone asked)

Not only is his takedown defense weak, he can't get up once he gets down there.

I think he only wallwalked one time.
