Are they actually giving you 6 pts for basketball?

Gotta love the Super Bowl. Halftime special on BM:

Both -150, J-Lo Only +225, Shakira Only +265, Neither Cleavage +550
Both might be the only bet I make this year.

For those in the know, do most agents who work with 3rd party skins take commission off net losses, or are a good portion of them taking all the action? Curious how much money I've made for my agent this year lol
01-24-2020 , 02:01 PM
"Agents" by definition are working for the main guy and get some sort of commission. Standard is something like 25% of net losses per week for all of your guys. Some people use make up which changes things and makes everything super complicated and awful (seriously dont do a make up deal with anyone, ever. They never work out.) Trying to figure out what hes made off you would be tough since the week to week effect. Like if you lost 1000 one week and made 1000 the next week, youd show 0 profit/loss but your agent would have made 250.

If someone is taking your action then hes just a bookie, pretty simple. Hes made however much you lost total, obviously.

You should be able to tell the difference. Theyll usually just tell you everything if you ask but if not, agents are almost always young guys who usually bet a lot themselves and never have any money (hence why theyre agents and not actual bookies; no bankroll.) Getting in good with agents is how you really smash PPH's. You can work out all kinds of deals and gets tons of accounts.

Bookies are usually older guys who dont do their own pick ups or make you bring it to them. Theyre usually dumb but successful guys with their own business who do this on the side. Ive known a few that did it full time though. I legit dont think ive ever met one that thought that anyone could beat them and theyre usually wicked slow to shut you down

If I did a well just on PPH's and all my stories with meeting them in parking lots and bars and hustling them and getting stiffed and paying goons to collect for me and all the trials and tribulations and mishaps, I think it would be pretty good

Thanks for the color! That is super helpful information. This came up because my agent has been giving me a rebate whenever I have a losing week, so I was curious how that was possible and whether that was coming directly from the book or something. He's a pretty young dude so given what you said, it sounds like he's probably just making commission and the rebates are from the book itself to keep me betting.

Would love to hear any stories you got, Like, whenever you have some time to share them. I find this type of stuff fascinating as I'm sure a lot of other people would too.

I've been around this racket a while and I still know almost nothing about the underbelly that is the world of PPH. At the very least it would be a useful resource to refer people to who have related questions.

Whenever you think you'll have time to devote to answering questions, please start the thread. Or let us know and I'll create it. Intro questions:

What is a PPH bookie? How does this differ from betting offshore or at a casino?
Why would I want to work with a PPH bookie?
How do I find a PPH bookie?
I lost a lot of money, do I really have to pay? I won a lot of money, how do I make sure I get paid?

Lots of more questions those are just to get it rolling. Thanks for doing this.

Id be happy to answer questions like those and tell some grimey old school PPH stories. Starting the thread myself seems, I dont know, gauche? If one of you start the thread Ill do it. I dont wanna hi jack this one

Thread created. I can't believe it's been something like 8 years since our last one.

i guess i just figured him to be smarter than that. though i guess a baby boomer who has already made his loot is gonna believe whatever keeps his numbers right.

Wiper you've been gone a while so you are excused for not knowing that we no longer put people down or shame them here. We've now learned a better way which builds people up and respects their dignity, particularly for honored members such as yourself and RickJ. I tell you this because you are a longtime friend and valued contributor who understands the importance of what we're doing in this little forum. Welcome back.

this kind of thinking is why trump won in the first place IMO. Very cliquey, tribal and condescending, as if youd have to be dumb to support anything other than a democrat
01-29-2020 , 05:06 PM
since rickj isn't a human but a sentient AI program it makes sense that he would lean in that direction
01-29-2020 , 06:10 PM
Im happy and amazed that RickJ is not only alive in 2020 but seemingly doing very well
01-29-2020 , 07:56 PM
i saw rickj near the top of the westgate contest early in the season either this year or last

no idea where he ended up
