You name either 5 or 6 teams that will not make the NFL playoffs this year. If they all don't make it, you win. If one or more of them make it, I win. I'll offer even money on 6 teams, you must give me 1.5-1 on 5 teams.

Max bet $2500

I will take up to $10,000 in total action.


Two options regarding the trust issue. I would trust any of the following 4 people to hold the money:

Performify mentioned in his PM response to me that he has held money in the past. If this is the only solution then I would be ok with that as well.

Or we could exchange phone numbers and addresses with the understanding that the loser will only send the money via check to that address. That insures that we know where each other lives.

I have lost bets before and paid them in the Sporting Events forum and I can provide 2 references if necessary.

I will take this bet for the max.

I select the following six teams which will not make the NFL playoffs this year:

The New York Yankees.

The Boston Red Sox.

The New York Knicks

The San Antonio Spurs.

The Chicago White Sox.

And finally:

The Kansas City Royals.




This is my smartass way of saying I assume, and wording in prop bets is always key in a sea of angle shooters, you have to specify NFL teams

I want 1.5-1 on 5 teams who won't make the playoffs in one conference. Same terms as above. Can you do it?

Thremp, tell me which conference you are choosing and I'll give you my answer. My initial thought is that I'd be a lot more willing to do it for the NFC. For the AFC, I may not give as much as 1.5-1. I'd still want to think it over before committing to anything though.

Performify, point noted. There are absolutely no tricks or semantical uncertainties here. So I'm putting in a "common sense clause" which says that if anyone tries to back out on anything sneaky like that they still have to pay. I believe that the INTENDED PERAMETERS of the bet are fairly clear, and if you don't understand them then ask before you bet.

This bet seems so easy to me. I think I could name 10 teams that I know wont make the playoffs this year. Let me try and see how many i come up with...

I'm pretty sure all of those teams wont make the playoffs. I'm not saying I want to bet, but it seems like an easy win to only have to pick 5 or 6.....am I nutz?

I think KC, GB and TB will. Hell, TB, GB or even Minny could [not will] win their divisions. Wash certainly could even tho I think they won't.

Only condition, I hold the money. Or a trusted third party if we can find one.

(not that I don't trust you, but laying long odds I'd need assurance the money is there to reduce my exposure).

Understood, just a starting point in my mind. If there is a team that is only 5% or something, obviously the other 5 teams don't need to be quite as bad.
