Makes me glad again I do not watch television.
Hahahaha...I mean we obviously all love this game right? So as a horseplayer I am offended when someone puts out a show like this which makes the game and the players involved look horrible. Don't get me wrong, there are some successful contest players on that show who have won lots of money but that doesn't mean they should be put on a television show. They could of went in so many other directions but for some reason they went the route they did and it sucks.

Thank you HPB I look forward to the newsletter itt each month and this months was very good. This is what reading is like huh? .....As the newsletter article mentions that is why I really gave up with the on air cappers and such 5 years ago because I could only listen to so much bs and so many blueberry giant or reverse mortgages commercials I just had enough. I like Lenny Moon and he had a good read on his experience at the HPWS I enjoyed and took to heart. He also mentions where I was between a couple different approaches myself when I need some bigger numbers to take 1st but staying the course sometimes is not the bad play. I am always going to try for 1st flat out but there is some valor to being able to afford yourself a chance to go for 1st again another time without having to reach into your pocket to do it.

ATS I agree with what you said about the competitive part because there is no way anyone else is taking the ball from me and taking the shot, this is not a team sport its horse racing you against the tote or the competition. I could not imagine doing that ever. I could see like you had mentioned b4 about a synd on big carry days for the PK6 etc working with someone but that is the only exception imo.

I was catching the NHC blog on DRF reading some Peter Fornatale and the more I read on him the more I like the guy,he seems to be like all of us here except he spells better. I just like the way he covers the scene believe his book just came out today for tourney players as well and wish him success on that.

Going to play the TS Qualifier today to try and get in on this weekends big game on there for Saturday. B3 had to read your post again and still funny as hell. GL to all itt today.

I like ur ticket. The parlay on ur 2 singles would prolly net u around 1k if u jus bet the 3 in Race7 to win & the 8 in Race10 to win, but if u catch jus 1 price in those other 3 legs, ur good for 2k+ on a day like today imho.

Errr, ur prolly lookin at over 2k if u jus do a win parlay on ur singles, by making a $180 to win on pletch & if u get 4/5 on him & 8/1 on WS, u should get back around $2,700, & u wouldnt have to sweat races 8,9, & 11

For my small amount of actual knowledge I am awfully good at picking the wise guy horses. WS is 3:1 and looks full of himself on the track.

Edit to say: I admit I am good at screwing up good picks with poor wagering strategies so any advice is always appreciated.

Yes but did you have it for a dollar or for the minimum 50 cents?

What race at Aqueduct are you talking about? This obviously didn't take place yesterday.

The pool was only $162,039 so no one actually hit it for the amount posted on the results screen. Tracks should just post the minimum amount results and not the $1 or $2 bet amount.

There was only 117,550 in the pool..... Just another example of why tracks should show the minimum wager amount when posting exotic payoffs.

I dont play at Parx but I happened to catch that they run a P6 and noticed it paid on 4/6 for 43 or something. Look into this a bit more - the pool (a $2 bet) was $237! I mean is this right? Did 2 people play it? Handle seems to be similar to Charles Town, which doesnt run a P6. I don't know, they need to drop that or make it a dime bet, because thats just about the saddest thing ive ever seen.

Nobody plays the pick 6 at Parx. It literally takes about a 7 or 8 day carryover for it to reach 30K. I personally would rather bet on 7 squirrels running around in a circle then to put my money into a track like Parx, Charlestown, Mountaineer, Beulah, Finger Lakes, Emerald, etc.

I cant agree with u more boss.... Im 31 now, but when i was in my teens, i can remember my father & other degens at the track saying the term "flasher" quite often... Why dont tracks go back to that i wonder?? If there was only 1 ticket that hit the whole pool, they would have that specific payout flash on the screen (or blink) when they where showing payouts. So u knew when there was only 1 ticket out there. Anybody remember this?

I tend to agree with u on those D tracks, but there are exceptions imho. For example, this year on BC saturday Parx had a 15k carryover in the pick6 & i was mulling over the idea of playing that pick6, with my thought process being, nobody n there rite mind would b attacking a 15k p6 carryover at Parx on BC saturday, so perhaps I could get in it & steal it without too many players takn a decent crack at it. Well I ended up ditching the idea & i havent forgiven myself since. There was only a total of like $700 new money bet into it that saturday & the longest price horse n the sequence was $10 i believe. Nobody even had 6of6 & then the following day, it was hit when more attn was on it , instead of the BC. Another example of this was Derby Day 2010 when Beulah had a 500k carryover in there .25c Fortune 6. Which use to be a unique ticket pick6 (jus like gulfstream), but derby day happen to b closing day. It still may be the single greatest carryover pool 1 could have ever played. Again, with everybody focused on the ky derby, not too many folks were thinkn bout a p6 at beulah. There was not 1 horse n that sequence that paid more than $9 & the .25c came back like $3,200, and that was with a few $4 horses as well.
All im saying is, those D tracks can have something to offer occasionally.

ATS I had you at over 50 years old at a good price too 31 and you know this much of the industry is crazy to me in such a cool way my man.

Going over some twitter feeds about the final mand race at SA in the NHC and they are sure it was not but shows the possibility of a hedge situation that imo just screamed out loud when you have an hour between races. Watchmaker is never on my radar till this weekend when I read he said some weird chit about Jose Arias being a gentle soul and no malice in him?? Mike what are you talking about? Then to say no way that this scenario could not of happened is just insane. Hey Mike most of us horse people could care less about the spelling part but the math is a different story and it comes fairly easy to some of us.

Interested to see the outcome of this situation and the changes it brings on in the future. I was not aware that this is how the format went down with everyone knowing everyone's picks 1 min before post and surprised in LV this situation was not thought of to begin with.

Its Tuesday so either I catch up on non horse related things or bet on the squirrels

Also, i think days like today are decent play days. When every track north of the mason-dixon is closed & u only have 3 tracks to choose from, folks are forced to bet on only those 3 tracks if they want action. Im betting the pools are 60% larger at sam houston today than yesterdays handle. Same with turf paradise. I havent been paying attn to Sunland, but im sure ul see a spike n handle there as well.
If anybody wants the DRF Classic PDF PP's for Sam Hou, TurfP, or Sun. Jus msg me with ur email address & il hook u up. Preferably b4 1:45pm est.
