Does anyone know if you had a $100 exacta today on 6-9 pays $300. if its a $100 ticket that's $15,000 do you pay taxes on that. Or is it better to have a bunch of individual $2 tickets.

Good trip for Oxbow. Hats off to him. Was confident the field would beat Orb, but that's clearly only half the battle (I had Gov Charlie and Itsmyluckyday).

Had a blast at Churchill Downs on Saturday. Did not get a chance to explore as much as I would like. My group was up on Millionaires Row Level 4 which provided a great balcony to view the race while at the same time providing a nice spread of food and drinks.

It was a nice social atmosphere at a reasonable price especially for wives/girlfriends who didn't care as much about the racing.

Only cashed one small WIN ticket all day until the final race of the day. I hit the final Pick 3 (.50), a Win Bet, and $3 of the Exacta on Race 11 to make a big losing day into a small losing day.

Plan on doing the same trip again next year.

I think he was referring to the amount of $ bet on Orb.

It doesn't matter if a heavy favorite wins or loses. They take the same amount of money out of the pool and distribute what's left to the winning betters.

If you think that a lot of money is going down the drain because Orb lost its lost only to the patrons who gambled on Orb. Those who had Oxbow did rather well.

I think everybody here knows how horse racing works, the NYRA being the exception obv.


So because somebody won the Powerball, is it a false statement to say a lot of money went down the toilet today? It did millions of people lost money betting on the powerball, just because it was redistributed doesnt mean nobody lost.

Stopped by the OTB today to cash my miniscule saver ticket from the Preakness. Of course I couldn't just take the money and run.

I bet $40 on the trifecta in the 7th race at Harrah's and was reminded why harness racing drives me nutso. The favorite in the 1 post runs out and the second choice in the 7 post is off the ticket. I hit the trifecta with a 12:1 horse on top and it pays - blech.
