I think AK's trip was great. Pace much faster than the Derby so he was obviously much further off the leaders. But he moved up nicely into the far turn, saved some ground, swung out wide in tempo while still gaining ground. Just the 2nd best horse today.

I thought the same. Likely he just regressed a little today and is still the best horse of this mediocre bunch.

Maybe he needed a little 'pick me up'?

I was wrong about Shackleford. It should be noted that Flashpoint finished last and Midnight Interlude was second to last. Shack just kept chugging along.

Payouts were grand! And I missed them stubbornly playing AK on top only.

Man alive, thnk god i dont have an accnt where u do, id b lookin for a job. By far the worst day of racing ive ever had in my life. I was sooo onboard with shack n the derby, that putrid slow pace n the derby was his demise. He needs pace imo, if he goes slow, he lulls himself to sleep. Oh well. Ive never minded losing, but what i do care about is not even being close & today, i might as well sat at home & ordered hookers & blow. Not really, but kinda.

Oh yea, nice work Honch, same to u kev & every1 else that had a winner. Really feel like shack went too slow in the derby. Prolly thot it was a workout that day. Hehe. Im really happy for DR tho. Hes a great horseman and nice guy & this is exactly what he needed. His owners will b ready to throw some coin around in the keeneland sept sales. in other news.... Dale needs to lose weight tho, it looked like the poor fella was gonna have a heart attack in the win circle.

Two difficult races left.. this next one is a wide open maiden claimer.. the two outside horses are low m/l odds and i'm probably be making some exacta hedges.

Didn't have the pick three.. my opinion on the #11 was strong enough to merit a wager but, that last turf event where I caught the price I wasn't confident enough to bet into $1 base pool... the .50 pick four is a different story...
