I'm not going to offer any advice on games where teams have absolutely nothing to play for, because I just hate to bet on games like that...

As far as CR/Turkey are concerned, I have to take the Czechs in a bet that would include any extra time/pk's should it get that far. Something in me tells me they have potential to be a dark horse in this tourny, and they WILL ADVANCE TO THE FINAL 8! Take that to the bank. More tomorrow :-)

Yeah, I don't think betting on Czech was really THAT great a move, they sucked in their first game and they only raised their game against Portugal because it was Portugal they were playing, that's like when you're doing a 100m sprint and you suck, but the others all suck a lot more then you'll win but still suck. then if you run against some one who runs a lot faster you'll automatically run faster because you're trying to catch up, that's what happened to Czech Republic.

I bet asian handicap Turkey -0 at odds of 2.58 or something (+158). Germany tomorrow will very probably win, but the odds reflect this, they suck. Poland - Croatia, you'd probably have to go for Poland considering the odds they're getting and the fact that they know they could still go through (if germany lose) and Croatia will but out a second team considering the number of people they have on a yellow card atm.

I sat both games out yesterday, happy about that because the only thing I would remotely have considered betting that won is Portugal/Switz u2.5

Looking forward to group C final games, my friend and I thought of something interesting: What if Netherlands deliberately throws the game? Gets Romania into the quarters instead of Italy/France, and it would mean that if they get to the semis, they don't have to face them later. Take out two decent teams and rest your best players, seems like a win-win for the orange. The only catch is that its super unethical.

Anyways, for tomorrow, I like Germany and Poland. Each needs to win to get in and like it was said above, Croatia should be rolling out a squad that is second-rate.

Croats don't need the win - impossible to pick that side OR to pick a clean sheet for them. For all you know it could end up like Portugal/Switzerland. Since they're not mathematically eliminated yet (German loss = Austria/Poland making it in) goal difference/goals scored becomes important.

Can't pick Netherlands either, because no one knows what Van Basten is thinking.

Well done on the Croatia 1-0 score...Croatia are quite a side, and the Poles just blow. And I overestimated the Germans as well. Oh well, we move on.

I somehow managed to bet 300 bucks to win 300 with the Netherlands to win against Romania OUCH

What is my action now besides praying? Should I place some other bets on Romania/draw or am I ****ed? Im such a sports betting noob...

Bet wrong on so many accounts in the first place.

1. Dutch were +215 just yesterday. Currently +175. Why bet them at even money?

2. Dutch already clinched next round. Game doesn't mean feces to them.

3. Dutch plan to throw the game by playing teenagers.

4. Pray hard. Very hard.

Well, what the guy above me has posted is certainly true, betting at evens now when the odds were a lot better is a bit silly. But do you need a miracle? I don't think so, they're not exactly playing teenagers tomorrow. They still plan on playing Robben (who was very good as a substitute against Italy and he'll be wanting to impress because there has been a lot of talk that the front line of Holland works better without him, he will want to prove otherwise). They will be replacing Ruud Van Nistelrooy with Klaas Jan Huntelaar and he's pretty darn good as well, quite similar to RVN but a bit slower.

In defence they're throwing in Heitinga in place of Mathijsen and pretty much the whole of Holland think that Heitinga is the better player, so they won't be weak defensively because of it.

Robin Van Persie is also expected to start, him and Robben could beat any team, so they just need to outscore the Romanians for you to win . In midfield though, they will be weaker, Van Der Vaart and Sneijder will not play, but their replacements are no pushovers either.

And the last thing to consider is, Romania beat Holland in qualifying groups and put some, albeit not very much, pressure on them to win one of their last two group games, they may be out for revenge.

These are all small factors but also keep in mind Romania are going to HAVE to win if they want to progress (I'm fairly sure that's right), so this is a different Romania from the ones you've seen against France and Italy, where they sat back and I won't say played like Greece, but didn't have to go all out to win the game, they will have to this tomorrow and you've all seen how deadly Holland have been on the counterattack. Robben and Van Persie's pace and natural skill will be more than a handful.

I don't think you're doomed, I honestly can't see them losing, but Romania could nick a draw.

I was making a joke about the teenager thing. I think that the talent and pride of the Dutch still give them the edge. I actually have the nice parlay ending with the Dutch. Money back on the draw. So I'm praying too.
