What is this, Occupy Lock Of The Week? Sharky only drops gold nuggets, I think his record speaks for itself as to whether or not he has considered all the angles.

All the angles? Its crucial if the star quarterback of a team is missing the game due to an injury. Just wondered since sharky didn't mention it in his post...

Not meaning anything detrimental toward Sharkey at all nor his ability to consider all the angles. I just think the fact that Ms. State went to overtime to beat La Tech at home made me question Ms State winning by 17 at UAB being a stone cold lock. I appreciate the locks but will not be betting this one. I loaded up on LSU -14. Florida may not score a touchdown and LSU has averaged just under 40 a game.

I'll weigh in a game I like. Cal +24 @ oregon. Zac Maynard can really play. A little concerned by loss to washington and haven't checked injury report (for zach or half-brother WR). That point spread leapt out at me. If you don't like it, maybe play the OVER as cal can score

Sharky, thoughts on the miss st o/u 53?

Several sources, thats beside the point.

I am not an expert, trying to get better and asking questions. Why would LSU not be a two TD favorite with Brantley? Everyone I know personally is loading up on the game. Im not trying to be argumentative just LSU is the #1 team in the country and arguably have a stronger defense than Alabama. The difference is very small in terms of talent imo.

But did u consider that the gators probably have to play without their starting qb Brantley, since he seems to be injured?
Yes I know they are most likely going to be without their starting qb.Jeff driskel will most likely start and he was the number 1 recruited qb in the nation so the guy is no slouch .He is just inexperienced but I think he might surprise everyone .Lsu's style of play with playing good defense and rushing the ball a lot usually gets the wins but against other good teams I think 14 is too many points.I really think florida plays them close and 14 is too many points .I think Lsu will stick to rushing the football a lot which will eat up the clock and make a closer game than people think

a good example of how tough it is for lsu to give up 14 points with their style of play ....lsu against oregon final score 40-27.They win by 13 .Lsu and miss state final score 19-6.They win by 13 . I would be very careful if you are loading up giving up all those points .I would advise to either leave the game alone or take florida and the points .If lsu gets the lead they wont be worrying about running up the score. They will simply pound the football and run the clock out .I would hate to have to win by 15 knowing that if they have a lead they are just going to run run run and eat up clock.

Hi Sharky,

I am a huge Gator fan here as I am an alum. Think your analysis is dead on, but I like to add a few pointers here. Yes LSU beat both Oregon and Miss State by less than 14 points, but you have to remember that Oregon has one of the best offenses in the country so they could put up points against anyone. Plus that was the first game of the season and your offenses almost always take longer to adjust. Florida offense is no where near Oregon.

As for Miss St, we all knew that game would be low scoring bc Miss State also has a pretty good defense. I don't think our secondary is very good.

But the biggest factor anyone needs to consider is that although Driskel was highly recruited, it is very very difficult to play on the road as a first time starter. I would not be surprised if Driskel throws for 2 INTS against LSU vaulted defense and perhaps 1 or 2 fumbles as well. Yes, LSU style of play doesn't put alot of points on the board, but their defense may score 2 TDs in this game.

In the final analysis, I think the best advice you gave to everyone who favors LSU in this game is to leave it alone bc you favor the Gators. I think LSU will romp but I will leave the game alone since your counter points are pretty solid. But I will ride Miss State per your advice.

lol more likely that you were just dead nuts on with your analysis and other smart money thought the exact same. bravo sharky

rolling with gt + over again today. 9-0-1 so far, and that tie last week was BRUTAL... gt laying 10 up 24 with under a minute to go. gives up a td, nc st decides to not even onside it and with about 30 sec left, gt 2nd string qb days fumbles and they return it for a td. fml on that one

LEGGO GT!!!!!!

Time to be worried?

Almost half-time and still 0-0.
10-08-2011 , 01:28 PM
well, in regard to the GT game... gt's played about as bad as possible and its an 11 pt lead at HT. but the over is probably toast

No, but losing 3-0 at half is a different story.

I'd rather go in 0-3 than 0-0. At 0-0 you are under the impression that what you're doing is good enough, just one score and u win. At 0-3 it's a wake-up call

i was one of the few that still jumped on sharkys bet when the line jumped, not looking good at all right now. The only thing that will help is a pick six or very quick turnover.

Needless to say i may be loading up on this arizona game to cover losses

EDIT: need a lucky break away run or move enough for field goal
