-Great picture Brainaic..at first i thought "well another picture of a pretty tennis player, ok nice' then I later I noticed....... Sharapova's stare.

-Nadal, Federer,Jankovic losers on clay! Blake,Roddick,Ivo winners on clay! whats the world coming to? (I luckily passed on those matches thanks to laziness, a much maligned virtue)

Indeed a strange week ... guys like Roddick , Ivo and Blake beating clay court specialists . Stepanek beating Federer + 1110 dog and Ferrero beating Nadal as + 2200 dog would make a nice payday for value bettors .

I also feel there is a value at Azarenka to win the first set + 146 .
Safina lost first sets to both Henin and Serena Williams and Azarenka always plays strong in the first sets .

ohhhhhhhhhh brain injured Azarenka played a pretty strong first set but kept making way too many errors as the match progressed and completely tanked the second set maybe because of a possible injury or just faking .

Azarenka will probably not show up for this match if she really had the injury she pretended to have in her match with Safina that finished just 10 minutes ago but I will give it a try and even if she is gonna play its gonna be hard to beat the number 1 team in the world .

6-0 1-0 win for Djokovic by retirement of Stepanek in just 33 mins LOL

Gotta fade the doubles team again today , they came through yesterday but they will have to play against really superior players here .

re: doubles.

When someone like Blake is also playing doubles...when in the day does that come? Does it negatively affect their singles play? Seems like these wimpy tennis players are retiring a lot, how can they expect to play two matches in one day?
Quote

yeah , its the same day most of the time . There are not many teams in the doubles competition so they start playing on wednesday sometimes but then they have to play twice if they are also in singles draw .

Just like my previous parlay on top of this page . As I said I watched Azarenkas match and she was clearly injured and wasnt able to well in the second set so I decided to go against her in the doubles match she had to play just 1 hour after he singles loss to Safina ... well this parlay cashed with both retirements LOL
Stepanek retired against Djokovic with 6-0 1-0 and Azarenka with her partner played 3 games ( 0-3 down ) and then they retired just as predicted .

Tough luck with me fading the damn Nestor and Zimonjic and they are winning twice , maybe I should just stop betting on doubles .

Glad I skipped the finals between Dementieva vs Safina because I felt like going big on Dementieva but now I am glad I didnt because she totally collapsed after winning the first set .

maybe you've had so much success with singles betting because with it being an individual sport, a player basically can control their own destiny much more easily than a team vs. team affair, which doubles is. singles is just very much dominated by favorites winning, that it comes down to finding the right price more often than "picking winners," as is common in other more efficient, team sports markets.

That must be it . I mean I clearly know that Gasquet and Santoro are by far the better players than those they had to play , they are ages ahead in 1 vs 1 competition because they opponents arent even good enough to play 1 on 1 tennis but Gasquet/Santoro are also a very strong doubles team however Santoro can really play like a dick , well guy is 36 yo and is near end of his career and he sometimes tries nasty shots to please the crowd which isnt great for betting on this guy . I will stay away from doubles matches from now on .

There's a lot more going on that affects doubles teams imo than just player skill and chemistry. How seriously they take their match depends a lot on what's going on with their own singles (sometimes they'll take it easy if they still have a match to go, sometimes they're pissed about or demoralized by their singles loss and just tank their doubles match, etc.).

And sometimes they're just there to practice their volleys, it's real hard to tell what's going on in their heads for that individual match.

Man I had to think hard about my homonyms in that post.

spot on , thx . Thats why I wont waste my money with these bets anymore .

Nothing really stands out tomorrow in the first rounds . I guess Murray over Tursunov , Montanes over Phish , Tsonga over Mahut should all win their matches as heavy favs but this is 1st round so nobody knows who is there to play tennis .
Kiefer might be worth a bet as + 220 dog vs PH Mathieu who played horrible ( tanked ) against Ivo Karlovic in Rome . Kiefer is gonna get some support from the crowd in Germany , he didnt look too bad in his match against Ferrero in Rome .
Kohlschreiber + 170 dog against Robredo looks decent too , if Kohlschreiber is over the infection he had he could give Robredo lots of trouble . One also has to consider that Robredo played 14 matches in the last 26 days ( 4 different tournaments with many tough 3 setters ) so his shape is in real question in his match against the local hero .

What does The Brainiac think of
MICHAEL LLODRA at +370?
MARDY FISH +200?
Quote

Maybe like 10 % chance to win , both are horrible on these courts . Only way is a tank by their opponents IMO . Montanes was close to taking Wawrinka out in Rome and we have seen Wawrinka made it to the finals only to come short in 3 setter against Djokovic in the finals so I guess Montanes is in good shape which cant be said about Fish who looked terrible against Roddick in Rome and now this clay in Hamburg is slower than that in Rome . Fish is 0-2 in this event and I dont know if he can improve that record against a typical clay courter like Albert Montanes .
Llodra shouldnt trouble Canas either , watched Llodra against Ferrero in Monte Carlo and I can tell you he didnt enjoy playing on clay . Llodra will just rush to the net and Canas is gonna pass him most of the time .
I think decent underdogs are Kohlschreiber , Kiefer and maybe Naso if he plays against Rochus the way he played against Canas he should advance to the next round but I am not sure he will be able to play like that ( had huge crowd support in Rome ) .
