1) Continue my growth. 2015 was my best year ever and I almost doubled my intake in 2016. Another growth spurt like that and Ill be among the big boys!

I have pro tips for PCA:

1) The pool by the Cove is heated. That can be key. Rest of water park will be chilly in January, though the shark water slide is fun if you're into that sort of thing.

2) Food is ridic overpriced. The Dunkin' Donuts just off property is the best value. Food stands on the beach are much better value than Quizno's, Starbucks, or any fancier restaurant. Esfandiari once moaned about the $36 salad he ate at Atlantis. It's true. Like, your ****ty Starbucks sandwiches are $10+. The NY pizza place is something like $33 for a large.

3) Water ain't free. It's damn expensive. Just drink booze with ice instead.

4) Games will be sharkier than most places. Much more than WSOP cash games.

I disliked the place but there were a lot of factors going into that which personally only applied to my situation. My response to the whole PCA was David Foster Wallace's essay "A supposedly fun thing I'll never do again." I'm also fairly anti-social and the principle of things costing that much bothered me even though my whole trip was on PokerStars' dime.

That being said, I might go back to Atlantis in February as Caesar's gave a free trip + many amenities for Seven Stars to Atlantis this year. There is potential with the Cove heated pool and Cove beach as long as someone else is buying food+drink.

re: PCA, for your gambling carry cash since bank wires on/off the island are expensive. when going through customs you can split the cash up among you and your companions, just make sure to notify them it's your money and they are just carrying it for you. poker games should be decent but not great.

Im actually a little nervous about this. Im not bringing down more than 10k but probably pretty close and I could easily come back with more than that. Ive heard absolute horror stories. I just have to claim it and Im set right?

also I guess I figured the poker would be great without giving it much thought. Just...vacation on an island plus poker equals good games. But everyones telling me theyre not good really. I went once before a long time ago but I only played 1/2 so who even knows.

Does anyone know about the limit games during the PCA?

Never understood why someone would choose PCA over Aussie Millions with everything i've heard about the Bahamas/PCA. I guess it's a lot closer for people based in North America but that's about it. AM is softer and Melbourne is great in January. That said, I haven't been to PCA and the one place in the Caribbean I have been to (Aruba) to play poker was pretty awesome and i'd love to go back and do the Caribbean properly someday, i've just never been super excited about the PCA.

My 2017 sports betting goal is simple, make more profit than 2016 and grow the bankroll. I'd also like to get on a path towards building my own models as opposed to just 'beating the sharp books closers picking off the soft books that move slow'.

Outside of sports betting i'd like to spend more time with my friends than I did in 2016, I didn't see a lot of people that I enjoy spending time with as much as i'd like to have last year.

Games might be better as PS phased out high volume benefits. the last few years, it was pretty much Supernova Elites and Supernovas filling over half the spots. I forget whether they still will be there since 2016 had programs. Also, PCA used to be stacked with US donks traveling. There isn't as much of that anymore. Many of the rest of world satellite winners try for events in Europe. You'll get a few lucky sat winners from Latin America but it was stingy competition last time I was there.
