Seat 4: sfychi (£395.30 in chips)
Seat 5: thebigjew sits out
Seat 6: Pau260381 (£47.80 in chips)
Hero: posts small blind £0.50
sfychi: posts big blind £1
----- HOLE CARDS -----
dealt to wondlof [Qc Tc]
Pau260381: calls £1
TheRogue: folds
Hero: calls £0.50
sfychi: checks
----- FLOP ----- [Ac Jd 9c]
Hubbie joins the table at seat #2
Hero: bets £2.50
sfychi: folds
Pau260381: raises to £5
Hero: raises to £20
Pau260381: calls £15
----- TURN ----- [Ac Jd 9c][6h]

Pot is $43
Villan has $26.80 remaining.

I am 32.6% to hit, but believe I need 26.8 / (26.80 + 43) = 38% equity?

Think I should be over-raising on the flop to prevent this dilema on the turn.

yeah but youre not sure on the exact equity. queen may be good here too making your equity higher, or you may need only a K/8 because he could have a higher FD, or a worse flush draw.

but either way you have great equity here and a monster draw so just shove the turn and hope u get there

You're not folding. I think c/c is the superior line here as it may get checked through so you can see a free card. He's never folding to a shove I assume.

Also, in a perfect world you should size your flop raise so that your decision is easy on the turn.

Does anyone just call the flop mr?

The guy has half a stack. Im just shoving over his minraise on the flop.
01-05-2008 , 08:39 PM
just put him in on the turn
01-05-2008 , 08:42 PM
1. shove
2. pray
3. ???
4. profit
01-05-2008 , 08:45 PM
Im shoving the flop also. He has less than 1/2 a stack and I dont mind gambling here obviously. As played I would just shove turn.
01-05-2008 , 08:54 PM
agree w/those who shove the flop. your 3-bet size just leaves you in an awkward spot on the turn (as you found out). as played, just shove now I guess.
01-05-2008 , 08:56 PM
Shove the flop. Now shove the turn. You don't need fold equity here.

Cant believe you turned quad 6's on me tonight, fish.

Lol - you're one of the few tough players at Crypto £100. It's incredible how much softer it is than $200NL. Crypto games are so loose-passive. I think that you had v little fold equity in the hand where I turned quads - not sure I liked your 4 bet push tbh.

Btw in this hand player didnt fold A3o and I whiffed.

as mentioned shoving flop is better
anyway as played dont shove turn, doesnt make any sense
just c/c

it's so weird seeing poker in terms of £ instead of $. I think if i realised i'd just donked off £300 in a single misplayed hand i wouldn't be able to handle it.

shoving flop is superior than calling IMO, because of the probability we have villain's worst flush draw dominated, which adds a fair bit to our equity. Also, i think we face a turn bet a lot of the time, so we probably ought to get it in now.

C-C makes absolutely no sense: We're pot committed (yup) and however small the possibility that villain might fold, we have to take it: ergo a push.
01-06-2008 , 01:23 AM
You need 26.80 / (26.80 + 26.80 + 43) = 27.7% equity.
01-06-2008 , 08:35 AM
Yeah I had feeling you were coming after me on the hand as Id been raising a bit, so thought i'd either rebluff or get you off a soft hand. So much for feeling.

At least I hit my flush.

lol. i get nervous playing £1-£1 in the casino. i mean i have bought in for £100 whole pounds. $1-$2 is fine though

i think it helps us brits psychologically playing in another currency as we are 1 step removed from the money and can thus think more objectively

Guys, c/c is much better. BUT if villain has a fd shoving is better. Also shoving is better if villain has the potential to fold.

Do you ever play live?

I enjoy reading your posts - didnt realise you were from Brighton england.

When I played donkaments I played down at Rendezvous.

Ever played at the Fullhouse in Reigate? Not too far a drive from Brighton. They have a ridiculously soft £3-£3. I know the new management that has just taken over there and it will probably change to £2-£2.

haven't played at the rendezvous only the grosvenor

maybe i will be robust enough to play £3-£3 when i get back from thailand, although i don't drive but i'm sure the train won't take long
