the villain appears to be a 20/14/2 tag from like 50 data mined hands data mined hands.

I joined the table recently and he was active and abusing limpers and raising weak opponents, this is the firs time i played a hand vs him in three orbits

Bet the turn, even 60% pot would be fine. As played I call river, you checked two streets villian feels he can take it.

l like 24 on flop and get it in if raised
turn is fine
river def not fold, kinda hard to shove but i think 77-99 is definately a big part of his range here

I'd raise more preflop and bet more on the flop, he never folds an ace there with a gutshot and two overs.
I'd be very inclined to call the river - he would have let you known he has an overpair earlier, you kinda underrepped your hand and there's a good chance he has some acehigh hand and knows he doesn't have much showdownvalue.

River is easy fold imo.

how so?

I think your bet sizing pre- and post- is fine

Turn check is cool but probably has to be with the intention of shoving if he bets

On the river I really don't know what he might have... so I prob pay him off

My mind would explode if he had a pair between 55 and JJ.

Villain has like AJ or AA-QQ like everytime.
01-16-2008 , 09:06 PM
Trust me i've been playing .5/1 on stars all month.

AJ is the only hand id be worried about. i cant imagine aa/kk/qq calling flop and checking behind. id think this is ak pretty often.

I think he checks back the river a lot more than you expect and has AA-QQ A LOT MORE than you expect.

FWIW if you have the best hand I think he has AQ or AT, but AT is discounted cuz you have 2.

This flop + his turn check = he has Ace high.
01-16-2008 , 09:12 PM
He has QQ or AJ like all the time.

and I know how much of an ass I'm gonna look like when he shows up with AQ.
01-16-2008 , 09:12 PM
some hud stats would really help but i really dont expect to see kk or aa here, i guess maybe maybe qq. do u really discredit 77-99 being part of his range here fonkey
01-16-2008 , 09:12 PM
I think I agree with Fonkey.

When people float the flop with A high they usually bet the turn not check it and try to bluff the river. And he's like never betting the river with a pocket pair of T's or lower.
01-16-2008 , 09:15 PM
I'd bet the turn. but as played I think this is a must call on the river. I just don't think villain is checking back overpairs on the turn much (unless stars is trickier/trappier than the sites I play), so all that worries me really is AJ.
01-17-2008 , 11:54 AM
I think the villian is trying to steal on the river a lot of the time. I think a $20 blocking bet on the river is good. Fold to a Re-Raise
01-17-2008 , 11:57 AM
i would only bet 20 on this river if im calling a raise.
01-17-2008 , 12:25 PM
Easy river call imo. I think he shows up with 66-99 and AK/AQ here a large chunk of the time.
01-17-2008 , 03:01 PM
This is precisely why I don't 3bet pf. Snap call the river. I would of bet the river myself. I would of bet the turn also. This is like the best flop ever for TT.
01-17-2008 , 03:09 PM
i think this is a fold on the river. also jk3a, you're also bet/calling the turn? doesnt seem optimal against this opponent.
01-17-2008 , 03:12 PM
calllllllll
01-17-2008 , 03:14 PM
I dont see what we beat here other than the occasional AK I guess. I really think that if it is AK though, he is going to bet the turn. I see no reason why a random pocket pair would be betting here when your line looks like AK also and the pocket pairs have strong showdown value. I think river is a fold. I would have played it exactly the same I think.

Imo. So call.

This is a fold if the flop is 236, but I can def see him playing AQ like this the way the board ran out. You can add AJo and ATs if you want, but it's still a call if you do.
