k serious question. how often are most of you guys having 10 buyin downswings? Just had my second one this year, hopefully this is where it stops. Unfortunately I have learned that I am still not tilt-proof
I was down $3k this month until today and that was my worst ever. Like 12.5 buy-ins because of 2/4.

ive had 2 since the beginning of august (first one was 12, 2nd 10), but both of those had about -4 buyins of tilt tho.

edit: they're pretty standard i think(/hope)

Its kinda ******ed, Ive been playing for a living since the start of the year but the swings still really get me down. Right now I feel like Ill never really get anywhere unless I get a better handle on it, its one major thing thats really holding me back as a player.

Its like I almost start taking it personally and get that fgators mentality that im cursed and the poker gods are out to get me. Not good I know.

Wow, this is so true for me right now. I think I'm gonna print this quote out in bold letters and paste it on my monitor before I start playing today.

I don't have a fold button when I hit an ace in a reraised pot so I don't have any good advice for you. (don't fold?)
09-13-2007 , 11:35 AM
word, I dont fold AQ there against someone with loose/donkish tendencies. Bet a bit more on the flop to make it easier to get it all in.

i highly recommend reading: The Poker Mindset: Essential Attitudes for Poker Success.

it has helped me a lot w/ controlling and having the right attitude to avoid tilt.

This is something of a n00b hello to y'all. I had an account here before but lurked far too much and posted too little. I'm a good but far-from-amazing 100NL player and figured a new account would make me actually read and post in strategy threads.

for over 2 weeks now, those 80/x fish just hit every flop turn and river. I see you [censored] bastards keep on stacking those tards, while they fold to my sets and keep on ***** donkbetting theyr A3 in rr pot on A58 flop vs my KK.

I developed some kind of fear for they since they seem unbeatable for me at the moment.
