yeah, well, long history, but he's also incredibly passive aggressive.
he's like, 23 or so, has very rich parents and I get the feeling he's just been very protected his whole life.

Anyway, any problems he has with me, if I bring friends over, if I'm loud, if I use someone else's cooking pan, if I make the bathroom dirty, he tells the school directly. He's never once told me anything directly.

Also, my school is very traditionally Japanese, and very harsh in that sense. I get the feeling if I touch him at all, he'll tell the school and I'll get kicked out. I don't want that to happen with 4 months remaining.

plus, if he wants to play the passive aggressive game, then I can play it better than any man alive.

awkward lifestyle with older step-sister ftw!

-edit-

plus I'm trying to get a very high paying scholarship that will last about 5-7 years with the school I'm in, and I'm trying to get into their good grace

Although he's clearly very intelligent I think he's on to something when he says "but I still work in a bar". Someone with this level of intelligence who could easily get a much better job than being a bouncer and working manual labor for the past 25 years is clearly missing something that people with lesser IQ's have seemed to grasp imo (humility maybe?).

why does everyone think florida is so great at football? they're big wins are against a pretty average georgia team and an lsu team that was losing by like 35 against troy at home?

edit: and to be fair, i do think they're good. i just don't think they have near the resume of a team like ut.

There have been twelve presidents over the past 50 years, from F.D. Roosevelt to G.W. Bush, who were rated based on scholarly achievements, writings that they produced without aid of staff, their ability to speak with clarity, and several other psychological factors, which were then scored using the Swanson/Crain system of intelligence ranking. The study determined the following IQs of each president as accurate to within five percentage points:

In order by presidential term:
147 .. Franklin D. Roosevelt (D)
132 .. Harry Truman (D)
122 .. Dwight D. Eisenhower (R)
174 .. John F. Kennedy (D)

182 ... William J. Clinton (D)
091 ... George W. Bush (R)

Have a hard time believing this.

Not a fan of W, but seriously he is smarter than 91.

And I like Clinton but no ****ing way is he 182. 182 is literally genius level. Like, rocket scientist smart.

I dunno, IQ and work don't have too much in common. If anything it could seriously damage your social and working life.
There's a reason IQ tests and emotional IQ tests are two completely different tests. emotional IQ tests measure how well you'd do in the real world.

both my parents scored very high on IQ tests, it doesn't mean they're rich.

except my parents DID meet while working at NASA, and now my mom is a nuclear sub engineer.(hidden family brag)

According to your self-report answers, your emotional intelligence is slightly below average. People who score like you do feel that their ability to understand and deal with their own emotions and those of others is just barely acceptable. Emotionally intelligent people have an easy time overcoming difficulties in their lives and they are generally able to control their moods. It's easy for them to motivate themselves to overcome obstacles and reach their goals. In addition, they find social interactions to be quite easy and fulfilling, for several reasons. They are comfortable allowing themselves to get close with others, and feel comfortable being vulnerable enough to establish intimacy. They also report having an easy time offering support to others; likely due to an empathetic nature and a solid ability to offer advice. Perhaps by working on your problem areas, you can become more confident in dealing with your own emotions and those of others.

I'd buy Clinton being a 182. Not that this necessarily means he has a IQ, but he was a Rhode's Scholar, and that's a pretty damn hard thing to be.

in sailboat news, I just shipped de captain the security deposit so it looks like I'm really doing this. Right now Malefiicus is planning to stay for at least three months too.

Someone told me that 115 is 1/10 people, 130 1/100, 145 1/1000, 160 1/10k, 175 1/100k, so I guess that makes it around 1/500k. Which seems unlikely, I am sure Clinton is pretty smart but I'd be surprised if he was in the top 600 in the US smart. I'd also be amazed if Bush (W) had a 91 IQ. I feel he plays up to being dumb. In any case, IQ doesn't mean a whole lot, particularly as it misses out emotional intelligence which is an area all politicians excel at

The idea of accurate measurement of IQ with actual tests isn't a well established idea. The idea that you can accurately measure IQ from 'scholarly achievements, writings that they produced without aid of staff, their ability to speak with clarity' is so idiotic that one can only assume that they publish this list for pure publicity. Which of course, is the reason for the list.

Clinton came out of rural Arkansas and did well enough at Georgetown to get a Rhodes Scholarship and into Yale Law with no family connections or money. He may be a poonhound with flexible ethics, but he's a wicked smart one.

George W Bush's IQ would be hard to measure if he really is dyslexic. He does appear to be sensationally intellectually lazy and incurious, and I'm not sure how that differs from having a low IQ in practice. He also might have simply given up trying to understand the world because he wasn't bright enough and it got frustrating. This would also explain his clear contempt for intellectual achievement.

I would be shocked if Kennedy's IQ were that high. They may be going by things like his books (which were ghostwritten) or by his admission to top flight schools back before they were based on merit (his Dad's money served the same purpose as Bush's family connections in smoothing the way for him wherever he went).

I'd also be shocked if George HW Bush's IQ were that low. He's no genius, but he seemed head and shoulders above both Reagan and his namesake in smarts. His clear unease spaking in public doesn't mean he's dumb.

Keyser,

I'm super jealous. Reading about trips such as yours make me feel sad that I'm working to be a lowly CPA.

spivey, i agree that UF does not have as good of a win as UT (OU). regardless, i still think UF is a top 3 team in the nation. a shame that UF/UT couldnt play in a bowl game, then we could've bet the houses on our team (i wouldve gone however high you wanted :P)
