Hello,

Fairly simple question about river sizing here.

Villain is a 45/20 recreational player. I haven't seen him do atrocious calldowns, but i'm guessing he doesn't like folding much either.

I think his range consists mostly of 8x 9x and some Jx that caught a pair OTR.
What size should i bet this river to maximize value against his range.

Also, would a bigger turn bet (maybe overbet) be good here, since he probably have a couple pair + draw types of hands that probably aren't folding to huge bets?

Thank you

$40 seems good.

Anyone like a over bet there? I'm thinking it might get looked up, like a bink bluff.

I'd like a overbet on the turn.

As played, I'd bet like $30 OTR to keep his calling range as wide as possible. He'd probably call a larger bet with Jx or 89 (looks too good to fold) but he can still have better hands (75, QT, 6x) and we shouldn't isolate us against a calling-range that has > 50% equity against our hand.

I'd probably go with $35-$40 to try and get as much of his range to look me up as possible...
Over bet turn is interesting because he might look you up with some wider hands because it looks kinda bluffy... I'd be pretty unhappy if I got raised tho, but given the board if he was going to raise it would have already happened most likely
