River overbet deep River overbet deep

Villan is pretty standard reg. 21/16. no real reads except that hes pretty tagfishy/solid. has decent fold to bet % on f/t/r. 3bet pre is standard / meh.

u can obv cbet the flop but i feel like i can rep a wider range of good bluff catchers if i check back. turn when he calls he can have alot of weak hands and something strong will almost always raise. river i basically rep JJ AQ and put in the overbet.

thoughts?

I don't really understand why you didn't cbet the flop...
08-07-2010 , 07:02 PM
You say you rep AQ/JJ, imo those hands would cbet that board. So imo you don't rep anything at all.
08-07-2010 , 07:07 PM
who the **** would cbet AQ or JJ on that flop in position. pretty awful imo. learn to hand read fish.

Ah, I didn't see we we're IP, well okey sure check back JJ, but I would still Cbet AQ probably.

thanks, he folded so musta been good. zing.

given that you think he folds a decent amt postflop, this just looks like a more expensive way to bluff him off of the same hands hed fold if you bet the first 2 or all 3 streets

Way to give yourself awful odds when a smaller bet would work just as well vs his whiffed draw.
08-08-2010 , 02:22 AM
you're risking an aweful lot to fold out a much smaller range than you think you are. He is probably folding all Jx to a 3/4 pot bet and half or more of his Kx as well. If he sees you as a competant regular you might be checking back the flop to induce/get more value from mediocre hands/ protect yourself against a check raise. No matter what you do there is no way he is folding a set, so you are trying to get like KQ/AK to fold which is a ridiculously small range to risk a crazy amount more on.

I think its ok against nit reg. A good villain may call with a J, espec if you have a high cbet stat. However why not go for a triple barrel?. Villain will fold everything except AK and he prob 4bets AK a lot pre so he wont have that too often.

because its easier to click call with a bluff catcher when its 2/3 pot and all the draws missed. I would play JJ AQ this exact way almost always aswell. sometimes will VB 2/3 or even 1/3 to induce. I can pretty much do a whole bunch of things tbh. thats why im so good.
