River bet River bet

Villain is the reason I am at this table.

I raise KTs UTG, folds around to SB who calls, BB folds.

Flop K J 7
Villain c/c close to a pot cbet

Turn 5
Villain checks, I bet 4/5 pot, he tanks for a long time and calls

River T
Villain checks, I bet half pot

Standard? Too thin?

The river bet depends primarily on the villain. If villain is ultra passive, it's possible he may even be c/c turn/river with a low flush though this would be someone with an AF <0.5 and is pretty rare. Otherwise, seems fine and you get decent value from a lot of 1 pair/ 2 pair hands.

Looks good to me. What are effective stacks on the river? I'd be pretty upset if he shoved, but I think we are missing a lot of value by not betting.

River bet doesn't depend on anything because we are betting for value against ANY villain.

I would bet MORE on the river but I don't like your huge bet on the turn because it's the perfect spot where you go pot control because worse hands fold
