in the example given by warbucks on pg 1 sauce 4 bets QJss. Why do you think he does this when it has so much value when flatted?

i dont know but he 4bet called which makes me think he was either spewing/tilting, or there was some sick meta going on

They wouldn't enlighten you, but its not because they're protective of information. It's because there is so much dynamic and so many variables to consider beyond what OP has included that its nigh on impossible to say, and the answer probably wouldn't be of much use to OP anyway. In essence the answer is always going to be some variation of player x is trying to balance and keep a wide range in this spot.

On a side note, if i could get inside the head of any HSNL regular and dig around, it would definitely be Sauce!

Yah I just would like an answer more substantial than just "balance." Like what reasons could he have for 4 betting QJss, other than balance, when it seems to me to be more EV to just flat the 3bet?

Yah it could be just an aberration.

Haven't read much past OP and 1st response, but jackwilcox is correct in most of his post. Also to add stack to pot ratios when only 200-250bb deep make flatting a 5 bet even when given such great odds undesirable. There just isn't much room to maneuver postflop w/ 1.5 psb effective or smaller. Also, a bigger 5bet would decrease likelihood of 6bet bluffing and since like jack said, 4bet ranges are generally polarized, you want to keep your bluffs smaller and induce bluffs when you have hands and they don't.
