Villain is 36/6/1.7 over 500 hands, I've been snug 18/15

$1/$2 No Limit Holdem
6 players
Converted at weaktight.com

Stacks:
UTG ($20.00)
UTG 1 ($53.53)
CO ($276.78)
BTN ($39.72)
Hero ($238.98)
BB ($146.48)

Pre-flop: ($3, 6 players) Hero is SB Q Q
1 fold, UTG 1 calls $2, CO calls $2, 1 fold, Hero raises to $14, 1 fold, UTG 1 folds, CO raises to $50, Hero?

In the hope that he's spazzing out with 88-TT which I think is very unlikely. He could maybe be doing this with AK, but going by his stats that also feels unlikely. It just feels too weak to fold, but too wierd to call off 50 pre oop :/
10-09-2008 , 10:22 AM
could be squeez :P i would shove here cuz we dont wanna see an K or A at the flop :-o
10-09-2008 , 10:49 AM
I lean towards a shove.

Since we're OOP I can't really see calling here, if an A or K comes on the flop or AKx what do we do then? Check and give up after putting in $50 preflop?

I shove, pray he calls with AK....or folds

if utg had raised and CO had called, I would instashove this expecting to see a weakish hand (88-JJ, AK)

a LRR though, I don't think I can recall ever seeing a LRR with a non-AA/KK hand...

so I'd say shove and flop a Q to be safe

OK so I shoved and he calls with KK meh.

I considered folding, due to him only being 6pfr...

I dont really like calling given we're oop and folding obv sucks.

Thx, nice stove Nic

Gotta get it in here. It looks so FOS. I think TT+ AQ+ is too tight a range even. I think its heavily weighted towards AA/KK or tonnes of random ****.
10-09-2008 , 01:16 PM
He seems like a real donk, when i played 0,25/0,5 this play was almost always AA, KK. He looks like one of those donks, we dont have that much invested in the hand. I´d fold here, thin we are way behind far to often to shove. nitty, but it saved me alot of money at those stakes(where he belongs)

The limp-reraise is usually pretty scary, especially when they have a 6% PFR. However, I don't see people doing the LRR from the CO with a big hand very often. If he was UTG then I might think about folding, but I think shove is definitely the best play here.
10-09-2008 , 02:30 PM
THe main thing here is the fact he limped BEHIND a limper and in LP. I just can't give it much credit.
10-09-2008 , 02:55 PM
I dunno this isn't even a LRR, this is an over-LRR from late position.

I can't give this any real credit, without having seen him do this before, so yeah I get it in here. I see this play so rarely, not really sure what to do besides shove.
10-09-2008 , 04:21 PM
What is the question? shove all day long

I think the reason this spot is tricky is because hero has been running pretty tight and is not the best person to limp to in hopes of a raise. However, this is a good spot for a note.

BTW I am really stuck here, between shove/fold. a call is only going to let him get away cheap with what we beat and we are likely paying him off if we're dominated.

I read the results while reading the thread but before I read them shoving was what I would advocate. Players like that who limp behind a limper and raise after a raise are more likely than not going to be doing it with a weaker hand than QQ. It sucks that you happened to get coolered in this spot, but more often than not you're going to see a hand like 77 here rather than kk.

lol at this thread.
