I'm not sure how many of you may be aware of Pokerstars refund policy, but it has come to light that they only refund players who are "net losers" to the cheaters. A few months ago a couple of supernova elites were found to have been cheating the full ring LHE games. One of the cheaters admitted to the acts and said that he and his partner had in excess of $65,000 seized. The player pool at FR LHE is very small, so it was strange when all of the regulars reported not receiving any kind of refund even though they played 10's of thousands of hands with them. When I e-mailed them their explanation was: (This is an excerpt directly from an e-mail they sent me)
"After much discussion PokerStars chose to credit players who were 'net
losers' to the colluders in question in ring game hands, as it was felt
that, on average, they would be the ones who were affected the most. The
amount paid out was greater than the amount confiscated from the colluder's
balances, with the additional funds being made up by PokerStars."
What? So using their policy if player A played 100,000 hands with the colluders but was a net winner of $10 against them, then he would receive nothing, while Player B played 10 hands with them and being a net loser of -$10 then WOULD RECEIVE A REFUND. Using stars policy Player B was affected and Player A was not even though in reality Player A was probably affected for thousands and thousand of dollars. It's obvious to anyone (well, besides stars) that the players most affected, on average, would be the ones who play the most hands with them, and whether you're a net winner or loser is almost irrelevant.
I know most of you weren't affected in this case, but you should be very alarmed by this. Who knows? They may have already been times where you were cheated but since you were a net winner against them then you received nothing because stars deemed you were "not affected".
Here is the thread where we are discussing this and would appreciate anyones input.
