Quick: need recommendations for some free downloadable audiobooks for a 6 hour drive. Stuff about poker would be awesome, but anything else you find interesting is cool too.

what do people take this line? very good players take this line often against me I have noticed. every time I think about calling because it looks like I have what I have and he knows it and probably thinks that I think he is never bluffing.
11-13-2009 , 03:23 PM
It's a fold w/o reads and if people are taking this line against you then adjust and start calling big pairs p/f or just call top pair+ on the flop and check it behind on the turn... you can also take a note and start calling down lighter against people doing this, you have position take advantage and adjust.
11-13-2009 , 03:29 PM
I like a riverraise from time to time.
11-13-2009 , 03:31 PM
Not with his bet sizing, really looks like he missed a turn c/r, but if he bet smaller I don't think it would be too bad.

NL Holdem $2(BB) Replayer
SB ($215)
BB ($313)
CO ($209)
Hero ($195)

Dealt to Hero J A

fold, Hero raises to $6, SB raises to $10, fold, Hero calls $4

FLOP ($22) A 7 3

SB bets $10.45, Hero calls $10.45

TURN ($42.90) A 7 3 Q

SB bets $30, Hero calls $30

RIVER ($102) A 7 3 Q K

SB bets $164 (AI), Hero calls $144 (AI)

Very std Vs this guy right? He 66/24/2 with a 13% 3 bet. He's SB in the hand below. Not much point in raising turn given villain and board texture.

So you are swapping SD winnings for NSD winnings in a lot of places (eg forcing folds where you may have the best hand?). And you don't get to see villains holdings (or what I will refer to as the Bilbo Theorem!)

Do you think you have a higher wr this way? Other than the hands where it is a wash (NSD swapped for SD, as above), you are also bluffing and winning in many spots, but also stacking off when you are against the nuts (or close enough that they call you anyway). I would guess this happens less often, so you do get a higher winrate. Most mortals report getting called too often when they cr river, do you have a trick to this?
Player A never folds and raises a lot (carrotsnake).

Player B raises a lot and folds a lot (random internet tag).

Player A will have (theoretically) lower variance because his showdown winnings are simply a matter of the distribution of cards, which in the long run vs. all players will be break-even, but his winnings come from non-showdown pots and since they always give up their equity when they fold the variance in your red line should be lower.

Random theory off the top of my head.

FWIW you can right click on the graph itself to save it as an image. Saves some time instead of print-screen/paint method.

standard? villain is an unknown. Turn i think is a call as he could be betting with worse. I intended to fold the river to a standard sized bet, but once he bets so tiny i figured calling was standard?
