Cross posted since SSNL seems more educated on the whole Party Points system.

Is it just me or have they changed the party Points system back to how it used to be without telling me? I still have a weekly goal, but it seems as I get 8x for Party Points earned above my weekly goal as well? It wasn't like this when the new system got introduced was it?

when you go over your weekly goal, you get 60% of those points immediatly, plus 100% of them reported to the following week's goal - eg your goal is 5k, you earn 15k points, you will get 5k + 6k immediatly, and the next week's goal will be +10k (so a little over 15k depending on past 4 weeks). or something like that.

gir, question to 1st hand (AA): in retroperspetive, what do you think about bet/fold turn instead of check/call turn check/fold river? i probably mix it up between those 2 lines...
08-30-2008 , 09:33 AM
2nd hand: mostly i call flop raise evaluate turn, which i find is slightly -ev though cause 90% of time it goes check/fold turn. on that board, shoving flop though is -ev in my experience as well because no worse hand is gonna call. thus theoretically, it appears to me as if fold flop is only option, but extremely weak and exploitable... so what is your opinion about all this?

Dude. Look at the turn action, put him on a range. What do you fold out on the river? Diamonds....thats it. He has AQ/AK a ton here, and given preflop you rep a tiny range. He is obviously not folding unless he missed his draw, and no way is a draw a big enough part of his range after he raise UTG bet flop and bet/call turn. Sorry, this is terrible terrible terrible. Saying that it would have worked unless he picked up two pair is misunderstanding the whole situation.
08-30-2008 , 09:38 AM
3rd hand: interesting. u represent a set, thats it, right? the bluff shove on river with A, K Q, on board hits his utg-range so hard though that im wondering if giving up on river is best option, since u half slightly over half-pot size bet left. thoughts?

Aassuming villain is not anything out of the ordinary you have no FE and you have ace high. You don't have to felt just because you have an openender and an ace. You have not invested enough that getting it in here vs a range that crush you is good. Felting hands like these are only good if you get a decent amount of folds, and with any normal villain and dynamics he is never folding after making that CR. Pretty terrible also.
08-30-2008 , 09:44 AM
A3o-hand: this is a standard preflop fold as far as i know no? A3o is one of the most ugliest hands ever to 3-bet with, i rather take 56 off...
08-30-2008 , 09:51 AM
AQ-hand: STANDARD FISH-LINE WITH TURNED OR RIVERED NUTS! i know its hard to get away from tp, knowing exactly that u have been ****ed from behind on turn or river, but dude, when he shoves river u are beat 90 % in my experience... personally, i stopped making these kinda i-know-ive-been-outdrawn-but-icall-anyway-cause-hes-a-fish calls about 1 month ago and it has helped my winrate immensely...

Yes. Start thinking about the range of hands he calls flop and turn with. You really think he is pushing river with A9/AJ for value or has some weird hand that magically hasn't gotten two paired up or straighted on the river? This is a fold vs 95% of villains. These guys don't turn 98 or whatever into a bluff here enough for you to call.
08-30-2008 , 10:33 AM
at least four of those hands were butchered, possibly all of them. His 88 hand seemed awful to me too. The one where the guy turned a ****ton of outs seemed not so bad considering both that he check raises way too often, and that your getting good odds. only one i'd call a cooler for sure. Quads hand is also a cooler meh.

I agree with Samuri Poker the donking on the river agter chasing draws is a vv standard fish line! I mean at least have some imagination and go for a check raise!!!
