cake poker sucks. software sucks. cashout policies suck. why should anyone stay at cake unless they like banging their head against the wall. are there not easier games elsewhere?

It seems like two different players to me. Delirium was much more aggro both pre an postflop.

What is up with a lot of the regs playing with 320-340 stacks?

I did this a while ago in this thread but completely forgot about it. I was supposed to format it for an email for the regs to send to cake but forgot...whoops. here is the list of complaints again, updated slightly. make some comments and I promise I'll actually format it this time. I'll be xposting this onto another forum. Although I'm sure they're working on stuff, hopefully we can get the ball rolling in the right direction(s).

1) Time bank for cash games. It's pretty amazing that there still isn't one. Sometimes you have a tough decision to make or suddenly get a rush of hands on multiple tables and just need a few more seconds to act. I understand that Cake doesn't want to slow the games down, but it wouldn't have to be a very long time bank. Maybe 15-30 seconds that would refresh for every 30 mins at the table or something. Also, maybe make it so you have to physically click to activate the time bank so it doesn't get used while I'm sprinting downstairs to the bathroom.

2) Rebuy/stack topoff feature being buggy/dumb. Sometimes it freezes. Sometimes you tell it to reload, it appears as if the request has gone through, yet your stack just isn't reloaded the next hand (and is unable to be reloaded at all). If you try and top off but happen to win a pot, your top off doesn't go through since the exact amount that you requested a topoff for is more than the maximum buy in. The annoying tourney popup window happens to be right over the reload section, and sometimes freezes there to boot. Please fix these issues, perhaps by adding an auto-top off feature. Also, and this may be me being greedy rather than a legit problem, but maybe have the "default" buyin set for a full stack to encourage the fish to buy in full. Nothing tilts me more than looking at the stats of a great-looking game (44% flop & 1/2 buyin avg pot) and seeing that 3/5 players are shorties.

3) Note taking. You try and take a note on a player and when you get to the end of the line, it sometimes just starts going nuts, placing the cursor at the beginning of the line or wherever Cake feels like putting it. I'm busy enough with all the multitasking, should I really need to hire an editor to make sure my notes are somewhat coherent?

4) Randomly timing out/slowly functioning software. Normally the software runs fairly smoothly, but there just seem to be random hiccups where Cake decides it doesn't like me and times me out at all my tables, screwing up blind-posting and more importantly causing me to fold hands I'm in the middle of.

5) The hand histories while playing. When I want to show someone a hand during play, the best option is to use the create webpage feature. When you click on that option it opens up a new window to that hand, but the page it opens is in internet explorer. My default browser is firefox & when the new window opens up, internet explorer takes forever to load and temporarily makes my computer run extremely slowly, which sometimes causes me to time out while I'm in hands. Plus IE is pretty much laden with bugs, exploits, and viruses, and I avoid using it whenever possible.

6) The lobby lagging. I understand that it might not be practical or feasible to have the stats of the games being updated every second, but it seems like sometimes the lobby is just lying to you about the stats on a particular table. The lobby says the game is 35% flop & 1/3 stack size avg pot, then you open up the table and it's 5 regs passing the blinds around with 10% flop & $1 avg pot. Obv the game dynamics can change very quickly and suddenly, but not THAT quickly.

PLEASE email this exact post to support signed by the entire 2p2 cake community (THEIR MAIN SOURCE OF INCOME).

this is incredible, that is literally everything i get wrong with it.

in addition, i have an issue where after a long time grinding, the software will start glitching in lobby so that you can't see names at ANY tables, causing you to be forced to restart cake (really ****ing annoying mid sesh).

also, over long sessions, the "last hands" feature occasionally locks up, so that when you click on it, it acts as if it has been used, but no window ever pops up. (making it unbelievably hard to take notes in an already hard to take notes software framework)

finally, the blind structure in terms of timeouts is ridiculous. if, say, you're on the button, and you timeout while 6-8 tabling, and its folded ("playerxx wins pot") around too quickly you can't hit "sit out" again fast enough. (not to mention the ******ed delay between the actual timeout and you hitting the button). this causes you not only to forfeit the hand, but if you sitout, consequently be forced to post BOTH dead, until you get the UTG again. this is absolutely absurd, given there is no time bank or any sort of time assistance modification for the software.

if they don't take care of this ****, and regs consistently swarm the site, they will be inundated with similar emails until they simply lose customers. it's that simple.

it's not easy to move a bankroll, by any means, but the way the games at cake are moving, it simply doesn't make sense from SSNL+ players to play here if some conditions aren't met.

I'll prob wait for some people to add more comments, then I'll format it into a more professional-looking & sounding email template. it gets the point across but I'll probably leave out some of the snide side comments, even if they might be deserved...

Sometimes I get mad/tilty about Cake's awful software and send them an angry email, but I've decided that I really don't want them to fix anything. I hope Cake's software remains buggy as hell.

I go on insane tilt when I'm trying to make a note on a guy, and a table pops up, and then my cursor goes to the beginning and my note gets all broken up. God that is so tilting.
01-14-2009 , 10:34 AM
The time bank is worst one for me. I've folded/lost sooo much value on big hands that were timed out. Last week I floppd a a boat on QQ4 vs. AQ 250bb's deep and I ended up checking back the river cuz of the time Perhaps I'm slow, but I need a friggin' time bank plz.

I know this really isn't the most appropriate place to ask for an xfer, but I haven't gotten any luck in the P2P thread. So here goes.

I'm looking to get $1500 - $2000 on Stars. I have Cake. I would like to do this ASAP.

Hit me up via PM if interested.

Guys:

I tried to withdraw money from Quicktender to my bank like I do every month, this withdrawal being processed on 1-6-09. I got this email today:

Quote:
Thank you for contacting the QuickTender Settlement Department.

We are sorry to inform you but your withdrawal (ordered on 05/01/2009, USD xxxx) has returned back to us.

The reason given by the bank is:

Beneficiary bank is unable to apply funds stating the fed wire is invalid.
What should I do?

Thanks,

Pete

Ugh. I was worried about this stuff starting to go down. Do you mind saying who your bank is?? I think we're gonna start experiencing this more and more...

It's a local credit union, a very small bank and I know everyone who works there for the most part.

But since UIGEA doesn't effect withdrawals, it's okay to go in there and straight up ask what the deal is, right? Or should I take another approach?

Pete
01-14-2009 , 12:09 PM
Though UIGEA only effects deposits, I think some banks just hear poker and think "illegal = block" no matter what it is. So, I would tend to not mention it unless they do. QT is not just used for poker rite? Isn't it just like a Paypal type o thang? Would that get flagged as a 'gambling' transaction? ...we need somebody with inside knowledge of the banking system.
01-14-2009 , 12:46 PM
Yeah I'm not sure. I have withdrawn via this method to this bank since Epassporte went down without a hitch. I will try to see what's going on and report back when I find out.
01-14-2009 , 01:15 PM
Definitely let us know what happens. If they can't do it I would recommend Bank of America, they have never had any problem for me and also no problem cashing foreign Cake checks.

Absoludicrous- PM 4CardGrind if you really need a transfer. He is always willing to make just about any trade and is very reliable (but charges a high vig so idk if that works for you)
01-14-2009 , 02:44 PM
Ugh, please dont let quicktender go away. I hope it was just a weird issue that they can fix for you pete. I withdrew to my bank on monday from quicktender, so Ill keep you updated on whether it goes through. I use US bank and have never had a problem. God i hope it doesnt happen that banks start denying quicktender transfers

Guys, I made a WD from Stars about 6 months ago, attempted to deposit the check, and was notified 5 days later that the bank supplying Stars cashouts had gone under. They sent me a new check from a different payment processor and it all worked out.
