Can't believe what I just heard. He coached me a few times, and I think he was a really nice guy.

Goodbye my friend.

That's tragic - I didn't know him, but read his posts in SSNL. RIP. My heart goes out to his friends and family.

So sad. Jack was so helpful and giving with his time to so many of us.

Thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends.

wow that is terrible news. unlike a lot of you guys, i didnt know jack other than through reading a few of his posts, which were always thoughtful and interesting. news like this really puts whatever issues i'm personally dealing with into proper perspective. RIP jack, no doubt you will be missed.

He's been in my poker study group for over a year now. Really great guy.. always had top notch poker advice too. He once gave me his sub to a poker training site for free. I am really going to miss him. RIP Jack

So sad to hear this... The world needs more people like Jack in it, not less..

I met Jack through our poker study group. He was always super friendly, and always happy to give great advice. He definitely helped my game a ton, and everyone else really liked the him. Guy seemed to be on a very successful track, and had his whole life ahead of him. RIP Jack Wilcox.

RIP Jack, he was really good to me during a short stake and I echo what others have said.

just like to touch on this. i never knew jack irl or even talked to him on skype, but i was gutted to hear about his death. i cant put my finger on exactly why i feel so affected, but it really got me down last night (as opposed to all the other horrible stuff you hear daily if you watch the news that often washes straight over me). cant imagine what those who were close to him feel like. such a tragedy.

To any of you guys that take trips to thailand, be ultra careful if you choose to ride motorbikes, they are very very dangerous.

Yeah definitely worth thinking about the risk. Isn't the driving there pretty chaotic as well?

When I was there (back when I was active duty in the Marine Corps pre-9/11), lines in the road were merely suggestions. The travel in that country was insane and I felt like I was in danger every time we rode out somewhere or rode in a tuk tuk.

i always get hit hard whenever someone my age dies (and i know them/know of them). i wasn't really close to jack , but i've been thinking about him/his situation since last night. it's ridiculous...when it's super sudden like this, it just brings things back to reality. you don't really think much about death and what could happen when you're young.

what really hits me hard is going back through the thread and seeing his posts no more than a week or so ago. i mean just the idea of him sitting there two weeks ago posting on 2p2 having no idea that he would pass away in less than a month. just makes life's problems seems so small in comparison to the big scheme. also makes me super thankful for just living.

Yeah even though we know we're going to die, it's almost as if we reject that notion, we feel we'll live until 90 and because of this we waste so much time. It would almost be better if we knew when we'd die so we would live our life to the fullest for sure.

RIP Jack, though I barely knew you seemed like a really cool guy. You died in a beautiful part of the world, exploring and doing what you loved. A shame you couldn't have seen and done more.

God damnit that's sad. Life's just not fair. Hope everyone who knew him is doing O.K. and RIP Jack

Was thinking about Jack the whole day yesterday. My boss even asked me if I needed to go home early.

It's surprising how the death of someone who most of us never even met can have such a profound effect. I've been the same Chaos, Jacks passing has been in my thoughts since I read the horrible news yesterday.
