i kind of made up my mind u were going to bluff me b4 i sat down.

but yea, u couldnt have much, JT very unlikely, KJ also, now that Q rivers KQ is less likely too, u wouldnt bet floated Qx on river probably (atleast this size), and i didnt think u would flat with AK pre.

Wow, last night I played the biggest pot of my lifetime by far. I was playing 10/25 NL in the city with david lee the starting center for the NY Knicks. Bought in for 5k and was down to 4k when some millionaire super crazy lag sat down so I added on 5k more. 2 hands later this happens.

In a straddled pot I make it 200 to go with JTs from the hijack. Everyone behind calls and it goes 5 way to the flop of JT9r
Checks to me I decide to check and it checks through. Turn T
Crazy guy leads 600, and his crazy friend flats, I make it 2k, daid lee shoves for like 12k or so. Crazy guy snap shoves and his friend folds, I call. Lee has KQ for the straight and crazy guy has T9 for the boat, and I ship a 27k pot.

prolly the best song ever

So you basically won 1/4th of what you're hoping to end up with by reaching SNE in just a single hand? Something doesn't compute here lol.

Holy god almighty, very nice, I love stories like this. Clearly I need to find some underground games full of crazed millionaires. Really puts the +/- 4 figure days at SSNL in perspective.

Thanks everyone, it feels pretty surreal to me. Also Hbomb Im backed which is why I was able to be playing the game.

Ah, for some reason or another I figured it was all your own action seeing as how just about every player from NY seems to have a rich family or already has a few hundred K to their own name already. But maybe if some NY Knicks stop playing after hours maybe they could actually start putting some good seasons together.

3king I hope you didn't miss the chance to finally use Rounders lingo IRL... did you tell people you won "three stacks of high society"?

YOU'RE A WINNING PLAYER. No offense, but you are an idiot for being backed. Literally a freeroll for your backer.

Unless you were just being backed in that specific game since it was big and not online, then I'm the idiot.

Its fairly specific to my how my poker career has gone.

I started out as a MTT player a few years back and wwas fairly decent at them, never incredible or anything, but when I went to college I cashed out most of my money. I got backed for mid stakes tournies like 2 years ago and made some money before my best friend asked me to switch to him. I said yes and he let me play and tourney I wanted. I went to Vegas for 7 weeks, played a bunch of expensive live tournies and ran pretty bad, then had a bad SCOOP and FTOPs, and between those series and life expenses he paid for I wound up ~30k in makeup. Before this I was breakeven at cash games but worked hard to improve my game. I grinded back all the make up from 1/2 starting late october, and found myself out of the red the day before the new year. I wanted to pursue elite and also play some live tournies like the WSOP ME so I decided I would stay backed for now and maybe break off sometime this year. Its nice because i have a sick deal where I get 60% and can play literally anything I please.

if you're +ev in tournies, why not just get staked for those and keep 100% in cash games?

at this point, if you are playing backed and still playing 1/2 you are lighting money on fire, pretty much

especially with how much volume you are puttin in cash games its going to be fairly hard for you to have a losing month unless u take a shot at 25/50

It just doesnt work like that, noone is going to back me exclusively for high buy in tourneys. Ill probably stay backed until I have something like 25k to my name or after the WSOP.

Also it has to do with the situation with my backer. He took me into his stake allowing me to play anything I want when I was playing 22rs and 109s and the sunday mil. Helped my game a ton, keep giving me money when I was 30k in makeup, paid for a lot of my ****. I def need to at least make him some decent money before I leave the stake.
