Probably just donk/call since I hate getting it in 250bb+ with a mediocre draw.
I love the river fake blockbet I made.

i have him at 23/16/3.5 view him as spewy and hyper aggro. opens CO 27%. his flop cb % is 95. his flop and turn aggression is 4.2 and 4.0 respectively. but river is 0.5

this is a great card for him to barrel. should i proceed?

i kinda wanna start slowrolling regs. just to see what will happen.
Spoiler:
The games will get slower and even if you think you can get a small edge from tilting them you'll probably lose that edge due to playing fewer hands (they'll probably reslowroll as well compounding it). FTP will also doomswitch you for costing them rake

Thoughts on the line? Villain is a decent TAG imo (22/17ish PF; 7%ish 3bet). I think it's somewhat transparent that it's either an A high or K high flush on the turn+ but I also think the majority of his range is going ot be bluffcatching after the turn if I call so I basically want to make him level himself into bluffcatching with a high enough frequency
12-04-2009 , 04:03 PM
I think you're getting called ~0%. I'd much prefer a standard valuebet.
12-04-2009 , 04:08 PM
yeah horrible line, esp as youll never balance it and raise alot of semi draws on turn. 3/4 PSB much better.

I think his bet/bet/check range is very polarized between air and decent hands that are bluffcatchers.
If it makes any sense my reasoning was that a good chunk of his bluffcatchers are going to be at the upper end of absolute value hands or in other words...I'm thinking he's going to talk himself into "lawl polarized range, I'll call because I'm at the upper end of my range" quite a lot here. I think it's a somewhat rare scenario.

I posted the hand because when looking through my hands for the day it really looks butchered. I guess he's not folding much that he'll call river with to a turn raise regardless. Maybe it's a better line HU because if he calls with anything but the nuts he'll probably monkeytilt some stacks away :P

Not saying this in a rude way, just curious: Does this ever work? My impression of 100NL regs on ftp is that they are pretty nitty and are the exact opposite of someone who would call this with a bluffcatcher.

True. It's more of a "buckets" range. Bucket one is the nuts, bucket two is strong bluffcatchers bucket three is normal bluffcatchers and bucket four is essential air.

I tried to explain why but can't really communicate what I mean. The range I'm targeting is the strong part of his bluffcatching range. Every hand that gets there is either a bluffcatcher or air (or the nuts I guess)

Maybe it's because I'm playing pretty spastic in general but I get called a decent amount in spots like these, yes.
12-04-2009 , 05:38 PM
that overshove is not good.

tqjrtjr or whatever plays well imo.

run goot..

Yeah I think this is concensus ITT.

Also: crappy shove then I guess (I'll wait for bilbo to tear it apart before beliving it though)
12-04-2009 , 06:02 PM
clown I just don't think anyone believes that you would ever shove there with anything except a flush and a decent player can even fold a small flush. I also think that if you call turn and bet 3/4 pot on river you can rep bare As and much more likely to get called.

I do think this line works occasionally but only against really terrible villains.
