all 100nl. I'm trying to stay positive but this is starting to wear me down.

turn off the ev line. You'll feel better
12-01-2009 , 11:35 PM
you're worn down from a downswing ~20bi, while still winning, over 28k hands? come back when you're breakeven or losing over a 100k+ hands.

All In EV only tells one part running bad. there are a billion other ways to run bad besides All In EV. stop worrying about it. the only line that matters is the dark green one.

Dear Fulltilt Support,

Let me inform you that I am a regular player on your site for many years now. Playing nearly everyday and playing poker is my main income. So it would be great if you took my opinion seriously.

That being said, this heads up policy is so unfair its ridiculous. After getting warned for sitting at 6 (3 different stakes, 1 deep 1 regular) unoccupied seats instead of 4 (lol) I've been following your strict policy. However, since you don't police this enough and there are many people abusing your policy left and right I'm left at an unfair advantage. Some of these people are sitting at 4 or more tables at one limit, and they have a better chance at landing a player. That is preciously why all the pros would open more tables to match these guys to make it FAIR. Now I'm on the butt end of things because you can't police this, and I'll get suspended if I break the rules. Before I'd wait for 20 minutes tops to get a player and now it's hours before I get one. This is forced me to look at moving my money to Poker Stars who doesn't have this unfair policy and has even more HU players. This is sad and a horrible business move for your site. You are directly hurting the very loyal players that play everyday and pour millions of revenue into your site.

Please pass this email down to whomever makes policy changes, and please contact me more about making this policy work, otherwise you lost a loyal customer.

THIS!

CLIFFS: Nothing new, just my random babbling about poker and FTP HU.

Background for those who don't know: At FTP you are only allowed to wait at maximum 4 HU tables simultaneously and never more than 1 per level+type combination. So you shouln't sit at 2 100bb nl200 tables for example, but you are allowed to sit at 1 100bb nl200 and 1 200bb nl200 table, and then you can add PL or nl400 or nl100 tables if you want to have 4 waiting. There's a policy thread about that from summer or spring. It's not forced by software, but FTP is supposed to be monitoring this (fails miserably) and players can report abuse.

For many months I have been thinking that I should learn and play HU for a month or two to make me a better player but haven't actually done it yet, so now after doing 3 withdrawals in november and following it up with a nice nl800 fail (dropped almost $7k), I thought that this is a good time to play HU for a month or two.

Played 2000 hands at nl200 yesterday and it's pretty ridiculous. At least two regs (I know them from other game types) were waiting at six nl200 100bb tables at the same time and quite few at four or three tables. Policy my ass. I tried to follow the rules and sat at 1 waiting table per limit + game type and it puts you in a big disadvantage compared to these guys.

1) Has anyone here tried reporting such abuse to FTP? I probably should investigate the HU forum and post there.

2) Does anyone have good pointers or links to articles how to counterattack hit'n'runners. I mean at least half the players I got action from insta quit when they either doubled up or won 30+bb. So if you mark this player and know that they will hit'n'run you, how do you change your play the next time they sit down?

Do you push you medium holding more on turn+rivers to make them fold all their non-strong hands so they can't win a medium-ish pot early and quit, instead they either have to stack off or have a strong hand and double up (rare). Or the other way around, you play very tight and do not build any 20bb+ pots without good holdings? Or don't do anything and play normaly hoping that you get a better run in the first 25 hands so they are stuck and continue to play ?

Why do you have to wait hours to get a player? Aren't there a bunch of other people waiting for players that you can play? Instant game!

Seriously though, I understand the frustration. I looked through the NL100 'waiting players list' last night and there were a bunch of people waiting on up to 8 tables (I'm looking at you MASH-A-TRON).

I don't understand how the HU ecosystem survives and how players get action. All the solid winners are waiting for a fish. They refuse to play anyone else. Every NL100 table with someone waiting seems to be a 5PTBB winner or better. Who in there right mind plays them?

if anyone is smart at teh pt3's and could help me add in rakeback earned that would be awesome, just msg me on AIM bakertwogee3

Alot of these 5ptBB winners are actually terrible and the bumhunting going on at HU frustrates the hell outer me. I found annoying the hell outer regs constantly till they gave you action and then pwning them over like 3-4 tables was actually very effective.

I personally wont wait all day for a fish to join my table at 100nl I mean cmon. Besides if you're even half-decent you will have an edge on anyone that joins your table at these stakes.
12-02-2009 , 09:27 AM
Can someone tell me who the 20BB rats are at 100nl?
