Vilain seems reg no more infos

I often see some RIO coach probe those types of spots for protection, i tend to always c/f, is it a mistake and probing with those types of weak pairs for protection just has a better EV ?

c/f - get to showdown

Why not bet turn and then bet most of the rivers big. When he checks most of his range is SD value type of hands and he probably fold all small pocket pairs all 7 most if not all Js by the river if you size is big enough

You can bet or chk/fold,it's probably pretty close, however if you bet it isn't for protection. You are semi-bluffing/bluffing against better pocket pairs TT and lower, you can also make A7 and 67 fold.At the same time you can get value out of some flush draws.Protection isn't really a good reason to bet on it's own but I like firing 2/3rd pot on turn and pretty much any river as a bluff.I definitely wouldn't criticise chk/folding either when you have no reads.

Seems close b/w betting and checking as jherward said. I also agree that if we choose to bet turn, we should be betting the river as well. Doing this, we are targeting folds from Jx, 7x, hands like 99 and TT.

Check/fold fits better with no info from opp.You can bet turn but you must be capable of bettting river too, to turn your hand into a bluff, but imo you must have a decent sample to take this line. So here imo better c/f as played.

If we just want to bet turn + river for bluff we already have 10 milliard hands that's better for that no ?

Hands that have worse showdown value and more outs

With that specific turn card, you're gonna have to double barrel. There are like half the deck combos that caught a piece of that board. A ridiculous amount of possibilities are going to call you. 2 pairs, pair+straight draw, pair+flush draws, etc etc

Yeah exactly which is why we are all unanimously advocating for either c/f (majority preference) or double barrel (secondary preference as played in OP) because your bet doesn't make any sense unless you have a plan to turn it into a bluff on this specific board.
