so villain is 38/24ish. pretty aggro, c bets 75%, double barrels 50%

what do you think of my line?

I actually think I should have donked the flop but whatever. as played:

No-Limit Hold'em, $2.00 BB (5 handed) - Hold'em Manager Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

Hero (SB) ($198)
BB ($91.70)
UTG ($185.45)
MP ($245.65)
Button ($561.25)

Preflop: Hero is SB with Q, K
1 fold, MP bets $6, 1 fold, Hero calls $5, 1 fold

Flop: ($14) J, 3, K (2 players)
Hero checks, MP bets $12, Hero calls $12

Turn: ($38) Q (2 players)
Hero checks, MP bets $30, Hero raises $100

I like your line, but I find it hard for villain to continue with all his flush draw and one pair hands here, unless he's known to spew with those types of hands, specifically pair+flush draws.

Flop, it looks like the board could get a little scarier on other streets, not only for you but villian as well. For this reason, and because I look for many spots to strengthen my chk/r range, i'd probably chk/r here with a fair frequency especially since I didn't 3bet QK pre.

Turn raise, if you expect to get paid here, what is the weakest range you're representing? This is why I prefer a flop ch/r more in general, as at least your perceived range is fairly weak and you leave more options for you to play the hand on later streets.. I have trouble finding a value hand villian can call with here. With that being said, I think there are at least a few draws+pairs that might peel you on the turn. If I got to this turn like you did, I'd likely call, and chk/r a blank river, or c/c a river that hits his range.

The great thing about this aggro guys is when you to start chk/r lots of flops against them, their range that they continue with is sooo much weaker than people think because a lot of bad lag's just assume were playing back at them, as their usually aware of their own image.

*edit, and if we're telling a story on the flop, we can either call making it look like we have a semi-marginal showdown hand, hopefully inducing a tripple barrel, or we can chk/r hoping villian plays back light given the dynamic. Once we chk/r turn though after flatting flop, we deviate from this story significantly, and our hand looks pretty much exactly what it is, JK, or QK.

Can you explain this a little bit more, Im not quite getting it.

Basically, if we move KQ(pretty much the top of a typical c-c range) to our c/r range, our c-c is going to be really weak and an aggro villain like in this hand will exploit it.

If we're c/ring KQ, along w/sets, air, 2 pair, and strong draws(presumably) on the flop, then do we have to also add in more hands like AJ to our value hands and QT to our bluff hands and basically get rid of our c-c range on this flop?

Looks good. I like the sizing because it looks like you could be committing yourself with a draw. I don't even mind just shipping it honestly - I doubt he'll ever reship light after you put this much money into the pot.
