Ok, the situation here is that we are 200bb deep. The villain is a 28/15/1.35 player and at this time, a few days ago, I didn't have any good reads yet of him.

I'm playing tight 18/15/3.

I'm not concentrating fully and for some reason I only call the small stacks preflop all-in shove which I could have/should have bumped up to 40€ or so. Well anyways, here's the hand:

** Game ID 1814207188 starting - 2008-01-13 19:36:30
** Saule pleureur [Hold 'em] (1.00|2.00 No Limit - € Cash Game) Real Money

- e3ro sitting in seat 1 with €248.66
- Villain sitting in seat 2 with €395.80 [Dealer]
- DVk0Infinity sitting in seat 3 with €232.00
- Fyllingen sitting in seat 4 with €179.29
- Magic_Ber sitting in seat 5 with €14.83
- Hero sitting in seat 6 with €586.40

DVk0Infinity posted the small blind - €1.00
Fyllingen posted the big blind - €2.00
** Dealing card to Hero: A , Q
Magic_Ber went all-in - €14.83
Hero called - €14.83
e3ro folded
Villain called - €14.83
DVk0Infinity folded
Fyllingen folded

** Dealing the flop: Q , 9 , 7 (45€)
Hero bet - €26.00
Villain called - €26.00

** Dealing the turn: 6 (97€)
Hero bet - €52.00
Villain called - €52.00

** Dealing the river: 5 (201€)
Hero bet - €75.00
Villain went all-in - €302.97
Hero folded

I wasn't fully confident and loving my AQ OOP this deep, so I tried to take a cautious line and sort of milk a hand that's marginally worse than mine. Maybe he makes this pre-flop call with QJ/KQ or something. I was trying to keep the pot size moderate too without giving free cards and it was a hard thing to do out of position.

I thought that this smallish betting indicates some strength too and he might think I'm playing for instance a set/top set like this and doesn't get too crazy.

I decided to block the river small, but then he puts me all-in..

Is this a clear fold on river?? and how would you have played the hand?
Bet nearer pot on every street? How about river, betting horrible?

I think river is a clear fold, but I would not have bet river.
Some days depending on how grumpy I am I would check turn and see what he does
Your bet sizing looks ok to me except river block bet is too small

bet sizing is bad.

Just because a flop doesn't have a flush draw on it doesn't mean that it missed the Villains range. However, since the other player went all-in, it's a little harder to put him on a hand.

But i'd bet 3/4-pot on both the flop and turn, and fold to a raise anywere.

not betting AT LEAST 80% pot on flop and turn vs a stationish player like this is a very big leak

(garcia, river blockbet is perfectly fine bc he isn't bluffraising even if we induce it, check AF)

fwiw, i like your bet on the river. I think you can still get value from KQ, QJ TQ

Hmm, that is a pretty good point. I see what you mean.

Don't know why i didn't isolate. I would usually do it

Well anyways, villain turned his marginal holding into a bluff and made a huge move. Now when i know him better I can expect this from him but at the time I guess folding was the best choice.

** Dealing the river: 5
Hero bet - €75.00
Villain went all-in - €302.97
Hero folded
Villain shows: 10 , 9
Magic_Ber shows: 9 , 10
Villain wins €22.56 from the main pot
Villain wins €305.37 from side pot 1
Magic_Ber wins €22.56 from the main pot
