NL200 AA Faced up preflop NL200 AA Faced up preflop

Utg and Btn are both somewhat decent. Mp is new but just posted. Not much reads.

SB: $166.65
Hero (BB): $217.00
UTG: $200.00
MP: $120.00
CO: $268.45
BTN: $207.25

Pre Flop: Hero is BB with A A
UTG raises to $8, MP calls $6, 1 fold, BTN raises to $30, 1 fold, Hero...

Calling = I have AA
Raising = I have AA
Shoving = I have AA
Folding = I don't have AA

Basically what is the best line here or Btn isn't folding no matter what here?

if your 4betting range is only AA then you are a nit....this is actually a good spot to 4bet bluff but I would just push to rep AK

hero shoves

I would love to hear your +EV range for a cold 4-bet on an UTG open

Haha. Annoying spot, isn't it. In a good way.

Realistically you can flat call and rep JJ/QQ or just open shove to make it look like you have AK. Raising to something like 80 is meh. You can't really rep a bluff ever so just shove I guess

call
03-19-2008 , 02:21 AM
call or shove, raising really puts your hand face up
03-19-2008 , 02:29 AM
I took the worst line possible, raising to $100. Didn't matter in this case since he had KK.

72ish better if want to cold 4bet it. lets him think you might be raise/folding with jj, ties him in easier with jj where he might have folded to a shove. Lets him think I'll see a flop for that price with aj, aq, etc. and even though you are pretty much never bluffing here, gives him the opportunity to lol rebluff you.
03-19-2008 , 02:33 AM
shoving>>>calling>>>>>>making a smaller 4bet imo

...people would 4bet/fold JJ here?
03-19-2008 , 02:38 AM
I'm sure there are a few who do. People make silly assumptions when they have a bold aggressive move left that involves shoving all their chips in the middle. $72ish instead of $100 gives villain much more room to do something dumb.
03-19-2008 , 02:44 AM
sounds kinda ridiculous that people out there would think they have FE on a 5bet from someone cold 4 betting, but you're probably right. give fish room to do something dumb and they just might do it

Thinking about it more, I like a min raise, anyone else?
03-19-2008 , 02:52 AM
just shove or call
sup w/ the fps

well obv KK and most of the time QQ and AK, and i think its a good time to occasionally bluff against decent players because it will get mad respect.
03-19-2008 , 02:56 AM
if you were interested in balancing it, just toss in 2's or 3's and you should be ok
but whats the point of balancing a cold 4bet range at NL200?
03-19-2008 , 02:59 AM
If you think raising here = AA then you've got a few things to work on

If the 3bettor 3bets light often, you should be 4betting here with the same junk you resteal with when you 3bet a co opener on the btn. Not as often, clearly, but often enough for people to understand you don't always have aa here.
