Hey. Villain is a big fish 45/32/1.2 with 20% 3bet over 450 hands. (26% in SB vs steal).
His fold to cbet is 48% with 4% raise CB.

I'm not sure whether I had the reads I have now at the time, but he was very passive with strong hands (He checkec back twice with AK on J42rA3 turn and river after cbetting flop IP).
He c-bet when he has air and checks back when he as a Pair (whether it's bottom or TPTK).

I've seen him 3bets only broadways for now.
He cold called a 3b with JTs and called a shove 100bb deep.
I have seen him peel dry flops with Ace high.

At the time, I bet small because I wanted him to shove random Ax, 2 overs, or make him call again with weak hands. Having the reads that I have now, I'm not sure what the best play is. He really didn't seem to be the aggro type but then again he was being very passive with strong hands too.

    Pot = $318
It costs you $90 to call.

I think we are past the option of folding an overpair here to a big fish.

So you bet small to induce a shove and now he shoves and you don't know if you can call?
    11-02-2011 , 12:04 PM
i think hero lost the hand
    11-02-2011 , 01:29 PM
so you want to fold now getting a crazy good price? what?
    11-02-2011 , 01:45 PM
I'd 4b bigger against that guy.
Ott what's exactly the question, you 1/4 it to get him to spew and u are wondering whether u should call with those funny odds?

Lol guys I explained in the decription.
At the moment that was my plan. In retrospect I'm wondering if it was good or not.

How does he see u? Do u think u can get a call from 1pair hand if u bet bigger?

Hmm, probably, not sure though, I hadn't played him much yet when this happened.

    this shouldnt be a thread

The question isn't really, "Now that I've bet small, do I call?" because the answer to that is obvious. The question should be what hero's best turn action is after being checked to, and I think bet/call is the best option even though this particular fish seems pretty passive postflop.

I'd make my pre flop open quite a bit larger with this guy in the blinds.
