villain 24/21 8% 3b, 16% OTb over 300 hands. seems to be giving me lot of trouble in general.

what the hell does he have? I folded just because my hand looks like it is and I dont think he expects me to fold an A.

thoughts about that spot? should I check river maybe?

Well played in my opinion. It seems to me that the river somehow improved villains hand. Maybe he had A7 or 86? Either that or villain checked back AK or something trying to induce? Do you think villain was capable of turning a hand like TT or JJ into a bluff? If that's the case I think you gotta check the river.

could just be taking a tricky line with a strong hand. or more likely bluff shoving over your weak looking small river bet. c/c river, betting means he can play it perfectly

He seems active and I would rather see u 4bet fold this hand rather than call his 4bet. Although u fold to a shove, I think it is good to show him that u notice him being active and maybe he wiill b less likely to 3bet u light later.(If he is at all) As played I like your line up until the river. If u think your hand looks like an ace than why lead the river? He just gets to play perfectly vs your assumed range. jsut check call/fold depending on read. but I think calling is fine and then adjust and take notes on how he playeed whatever he shows up with.

wat

if he's more likely to bluffshove if we bet, shouldn't be bet/call instead of check/call?

edit: also... betting does not allow villain to 'play perfectly'

Just fold preflop OOP. The way played I'd probably c/f or c/c river depending on my image at the table.
