Villain is 19/16/3 over 1700 hands. 3-bet preflop is 5%.

First off what about the flat pre?

I bet turn to get value from mainly a-highs but also some nines that he probably always checks back on the flop (preflop bluffs). Now that I think about it he probably doesn't have many A-highs and he probably folds them anyway. Maybe a c/c is better to let him stab with his air?

Everest - $1 NL (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players

UTG: $198.60
MP: $91.20
Hero (CO): $132.20
BTN: $147.05
SB: $35.50
BB: $146.85

SB posts SB $0.50, BB posts BB $1.00

Pre Flop: ($1.50) Hero has J J

fold, fold, Hero raises to $3.50, BTN raises to $10.00, fold, fold, Hero calls $6.50

Flop: ($21.50, 2 players) 3 K 9
Hero checks, BTN checks

Turn: ($21.50, 2 players) 4
Hero bets $12.50, BTN raises to $30.00, fold

4bet get it in or fold pre

tough against 5% 3bet so Id fold tho

baiscally he cant have bluffs (because of his narrow range pre) beside AQhh .. so what are you vbetting against?

What are your stats? That will affect how light villian is 3 betting you for value. I think co vs button you should four bet this even against a tight 3 better.

my stats are 22/18. Att to steal 34%.

I have to agree. Calling preflop puts me on too many difficult spots.

I think calling pre is okay given his stats, and he sounds like the type to play pretty fit/fold post-flop.

4-betting is also okay - although i'm really not happy to put in 130bbs with JJ here vs a nittier player, esp if my imagine is fairly clean.

I would recommend looking at his situational 3-b%. He may be 5% overall, but 10% from the button, or only 2% from the button, but 3% from the blinds.

As played, if I were to bet turn, i'd bet $5-$7. This is a WA/WB spot vs most of his range - and I doubt you induce many bluffraises vs a 19/16

I like the fold when raised.

do u have any reads on how he plays post? im tempted to call this raise and fold river although it feels gross, this type of player is one and done with bluffs more often than most ime, id expect him to checkback on the rivsky with whatever hes bluffing with quite a bit

not thrilled but i think thats what i would do...the spot pre is gross too, i cant remember the last time i 4bet/called jj vs this type of dude with these positions and was up against a weaker hand, but co/btn its still my default fwiw

guess thats why they call jj fishhooks dude lol dont know what else to tell you...just go with ur gut and do what u feel is the best play

either is 3betting range is loose enough to 4bet/get it in pre

or he simply is never bluffing this board

either way.. hes doing it wrong

folding Turn is out of question + calling pre is somewhat bad / face up

I don't think flatting the 3 bet is bad, if we know he's the fit or fold type. 4 betting is BE at best, folding is 0 EV, so if we can scrape out a little profit when AK misses, we should be good.

That said, this flop really sucks for us, and I'm likely in c/f mode.

However, if we have any history/know he 3 bets the BTN wide, 4 bet/call is best. But I assume you'd have included this info, and with that many hands you should know.
