Villain is 40/13/2.0. With this many callers is it ever okay to fold outright at the first hint of aggression? I think the bet/3bet/callshove line is standard, but it seems like such a huge leak to me

Full Tilt Poker $0.50/$1 No Limit Hold'em - 6 players
2+2 Hand Converter Powered By DeucesCracked

BTN: $169.75
SB: $87.95
BB: $83.55
Hero (UTG): $150.75
MP: $107.50
CO: $117.95

Pre Flop: Hero is UTG with A A
Hero raises to $3.50, 1 fold, CO calls $3.50, 1 fold, SB calls $3, BB calls $2.50

Flop: ($14.00) 3 7 3 (4 players)
SB checks, BB bets $10, Hero raises to $36, CO folds, SB folds, BB raises to $80.05 all in, Hero calls $44.05

Turn: ($174.10) 6

River: ($174.10) 6

you played it fine. are you suggesting you fold to BB's all in? because that would be really bad given stack sizes.

Is it ever OK to call flop, reevaluate turn? I'm sorry if I keep suggesting folding, but I have lost 5 BI the past 2 days in situations like this getting it in. I have yet to be ahead ONCE.

anyone flat the flop here? board's dry and safe, not really any scare cards to come, i wouldn't mind someone else sticking around a street with 55 or w/e, if he's leading with 67 or 55 or w/e you prob get more value by flatting on the whole, yada yada

given stack sizes, board and the villain you're facing you played it fine.

I'd be more inclined to flat the donk if it weren't 4 to the flop.

As in... because it is 4 to the flop you won't flat? I'm a bit confused on your phrasing

yeah, if it were heads up I'd just flat the donk because there's no reason to raise it. with 2 others to act behind I'd be worried that they'd overcall and somehow suckout on my rockets. maybe not very sound logic, but it's what I'd do.

This is fine. He could easily have something like 88 that he'll be willing to stack off with now, but will cower down if say, a K turns. This board is just about as safe as it gets for set mining - there are only 4 combinations of sets/quads versus 12 on an unpaired board. Trips are less likely because 3x suited connectors and gappers are much less likely to see the flop.

Cold calling isn't that bad though, given your position. It allows you to fish for an overcall that you won't get by raising from the CO or perhaps the SB.

like, suckout by drawing to a 2outer at a cost of 10bb?
