gotta bet for value...fold if c/r
04-09-2008 , 01:25 AM
bet for value. also raise turn/bet flop

after someone 3 bets you OOP HU, don't try to keep the pot small... flating pre is fine sometimes obv but you have to start to build a pot.

I has aces, need to slowplay
04-09-2008 , 01:28 AM
Why did you play the hand so passively?

Hmm I'm seeing some weird stuff, thought u had AA. Well, doesn't really matter, KK is basically AA here anyway.

I realzie the villain doesn't look strong at all but I say you're giving up value by not betting the flop smallish/raising the turn.

As played checking behind would be godawful, just bet and let him do the thinking and call you down. As for betsizing, anything that looks bluffy should do, but I also want to be able to fold to a checkraise... hmm...

oh, I must have missed your read somewhere in the OP.... because air seems like the logical thing to put him on.

edit: also JJ = KK here, and TT is not far off.

Why what hand do you put him on that, 3 bets then checks a Q high board?
seems like AK to me
04-09-2008 , 02:05 AM
how about 99, TT, JJ, QQ sometimes, AK, KQ sometimes, QJ sometimes, and AQ sometimes.
04-09-2008 , 02:09 AM
bet flop....what is your range for checking flop, and what is your range for leading flop? If you lead this flop with any queen, 10's, jj's and a C-bet and marginal hands, balance it by betting with your big hands....bet 3/5 pot on river. Villian doesn't expect you to have a queen if you checked behind on flop, alot of mid pairs will definatly make a hero call.

Does 99-JJ float OOP here if i bet?
Also very rarely do i see any Q check this flop

meh, maybe ur right- but i think we can get just as much value from 99-JJ on later streets by checking
04-09-2008 , 02:26 AM
don't mind gimme. 90% of the time they will call a flop bet with 99-JJ and all Qs will call.

U can check it or bet it, doesn't make that big of a difference (and yea all midpairs are floating this flop), but if you check the flop you need to punish him on the turn by betting/raising... esp after that turn card there can be a few bad rivers for u (hearts, any straight card, Q at least)

OP:

If you are villain and have 88-JJ here, do you sereiously c/f? If you bet, what do u do if he calls the flop?

If you play it much the same as me, dude, you should be vbing F+T+R(? if not in on tunr) here like 2000% of the time w/ KK in.

He is never folding JJ-88 unless A/K comes on turn.

Cheer, what do you mean by dont mind me?
