Hand 1:

This hand maybe a bit standard but I would just like some confirmation. UTG is new to the table and is 13/7 over 17 hands. BB is a 24/19 reg. Is flatting this hand to UTG raiser standard?

Button ($18.90)
SB ($41.30)
BB ($69.20)
UTG ($58.05)
Hero (MP) ($53)
CO ($34.60)

Preflop: Hero is MP with J, J
UTG bets $3.25, Hero calls $3.25, 3 folds, BB calls $2.25

Flop: ($10.25) 2, 5, 9 (3 players)
BB checks, UTG checks, Hero bets $5, BB raises $10, 1 fold, Hero ???

Hand 2:

This was my first hand at the table so I had no reads yet.

No-Limit Hold'em, $1.00 BB (5 handed) - Hold'em Manager Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

MP ($23.50)
Button ($22)
SB ($62.60)
Hero (BB) ($50)
UTG ($55.90)

Preflop: Hero is BB with A, 8
3 folds, SB bets $1.50, Hero calls $1

Flop: ($4) Q, 5, A (2 players)
SB bets $2, Hero raises $6, SB calls $4

Turn: ($16) 10 (2 players)
SB bets $7, Hero calls $7

River: ($30) 10 (2 players)
SB bets $16, Hero ???

get it in in hand 1, hes a short fish and you have an overpair

in hand 2 call the flop, as played call down because you only lose to 55/AQ/QT/AK and split with other lower aces, and he's another short idiot

in the hand 1 he isn't a short fish and I would bet flop bigger, $6.5\7, because now he could define your less than 1\2psb as weakness, so harder to identify his range. but I think fold is the best option if villain is tight and straight-forward, shove flop - if he is bad\tricky.

in hand 2 all as Jaysu said - call flop, call-down later.

flat the river and split the pot.
