I don't really think there is much else I have to spend money on except like $80 for phone, $100 for subway, and whatever is left for food.
I was right around 15k when I lived by myself...less now as my rent/util is $5000 cheaper per year (but I now drive to school/park at school rather than be able to walk to class). Clothes, shoes, and hygiene products add up. Eat in as much as possible if you're trying to live cheaply (also healthier obv).

What school are you going?

I think food/going out are the two expenses most easily cut down. If you cook yourself you can eat quite well for pretty cheap if you plan ahead.

ignore going out. Forever alone is the cheapest!

St. John's

I decided to take the scholarship as opposed to moving to St. Louis or something to go to a slightly better school when I want to be in NY anyway.

Side note: a really good LSAT score don't mean **** when your GPA is below 2.5.

Planning for a year without going out has to be pretty dispiriting though. This is one of the times I like the Henry17 approach - being poor is a good incentive to make more money

God the LSAT was such a bitch. I studied my ass off (relatively) and got a 158 iirc. I remember being so drained after that test.

lol LSAT is the little brother of the MCAT

Practice MCAT today was a 36. Overall disappointing, but the breakdown makes it better (14 physics, 11 verbal, 11 bio). Obviously physics was crushed. Only one content based mistake. In bio and verbal, I just biffed a total of three passages, but there's still plenty of content to review for bio.

Overall, the quality of the test sucked ass. It's a Kaplan test, not a AAMC test. There simply wasn't any easy level questions, which leads to a better curve to your score. The problem is that it completely ****s yor timing.

I want to try the AAMC tests, but the problem is that I can remember which ones I've taken, and I dont want to inflate my scores.

GMAT is the ******ed little brother of the LSAT and MCAT

obv ignore every category that doesnt apply. consider getting mint.com to track things/set ceilings for spending categories.

Dear god take that job if you haven't already. Seems like a snap call.

Randiek, how bout employing some local starving artists for your decoration needs. Can't be that expensive, it'll be unique as fuhh and there's a > 0 chance you employ the next Picasso.

if I stay in Manhattan would be a commute of an ~75 min each way, is that going to just rape my soul after a couple months? I guess I could study and stuff on the train

There's gotta be some online message board situation for your school that could be useful.

Even if FTP got up and running again, there's no way it would pass Party/iPoker unless it was back in the US too, right?

I just assumed those are and would be Stars major competition.
