For doctors in SSNL:
Last couple days I have a numbness in my hand and upper arm, my pinky and ring finger. It basically feels like my arm fell asleep, but it never goes away and its not my whole hand

hospital time?

This happens to me on occasion when sitting in my computer chair and my elbow resting on the arm rest of said chair. The padding on the chair isn't the best and the angle probably not the best for extended periods of time. I'd suggest reminding yourself to not rest your arm on your arm chair every 30 mins or so for a few mins.

Worked for me, but YMMV.

And thanks y'all. For a guy who grew up having never lived in a house until his 30's (grew up in apts, motels, and trailers), this is kinda a big deal for me and the wifey. Having a yard for our greyhound is going to be awesome as well.

Congrats man.

house looks great, congrats

Wow sick house. That is your first house? Looks ridic expensive, congratz.
02-15-2012 , 07:52 PM
sweet house felix, congrats.

question re the greyhound (not trying to be a jerk), is it dumb as a post? i was walking my dog recently and got chatting to a dude with a greyhound who said he's not allowed to let it off the leash because it's so dumb it'd be likely to bolt away and then not know how to get back (or words of a similar ilk).
02-15-2012 , 08:07 PM
Don't think that's true.

They were originally bred as hunting dogs. Wiki lists them as "an intelligent breed"
02-15-2012 , 10:38 PM
Thanks fellas. And no it's not expensive imo. The architecture definitely is not the norm in our price range (without getting too specific, we're talking 220k-240k). We're stupidly exicted, esp. with interest rates @ 3.75%, it's totally affordable.

El P, to answer you re: greyhounds, it has nothing to do with being dumb. It has everything to do with them being sight hounds and can go zero to 45 mph in less than a second...and that is NOT an exaggeration. Not all greyhounds have a huge prey drive, but those that do can see a white Styrofoam cup blowing in the wind 2 blocks away and just bolt after it. Or you can swap out squirrel, cat, fox, etc. for the cup and the same can happen.

Greyhounds are actually pretty intelligent and usually quite friendly...and the laziest SOB's in the world. Our boy, Asher, lives for 3 things: hang with me and the missus, eat, sleep. They say that a greyhound that only sleeps 18 hours a day is an insomniac

I love talking about Asher and greyhounds in general, so if you have any other questions, hit me up.

My aunt took in retired racing greyhounds and they were some of the nicest, easy going dogs I've been around. I grew up with a mutt, lab and something else who was wonderful. Loved that dog and can't wait to get a dog of my own. I'd like to get a short haired and larger dog, either some type of lab, Weimaraner, or mix. The wife's family has a miniature Schnauzer which I don't really like the breed, but the dog is a character and very loving.

Congrats Felix! Where's the new place? (you were in Vegas before, right?)

Also, this is what I got from the upton gifs:

There's a small park opposite my house and it seems that everyone in town with greyhounds meets up there. Presumably it's because it's enclosed which means they can still get their dogs after letting them off the leash while still being big enough that the dogs can run a bit.

SI absurdly airbrush everything. If any of the socialist Euro countries ever get round to passing laws against photoshopping models I will chalk it down as a good day.

Was it France that banned some makeup ads for being unrealistic?
