This discussion is ridiculous imo. The point of those threads is to discuss the regs, this would hurt the regs discussed MUCH more than simply getting to know his WR over x hands.

Also, I can't see why someone posting a screen shot should be expected to out his SN. Makes no sense what so ever to me.

best two posts in the thread imo. I like stats. Besides giving some info, they are just fun to look at. Isn't the whole purpose to discuss players in the regs threads? well, stats is a great way to start discussion.

love them, keep them, that's my vote.

jk3a has already mentioned that there will be no datamine shots in the Stars thread. I think what Nick said applies a lot better wrt Full Tilt, since datamining is super easy and anyone who wants to put in a small amount of effort can get those stats for themselves anyway.

Not really true. The level of coverage that exists in the mines already posted in the FTP Regs thread is way higher than the typical user could get on his own.

Almost anyone who reads these boards will have stats anyway, and hence have a smaller sample of data to see who is a good player you can play back at and who isn't. And to think that this is going to affect someone's winrate significantly (1PTBB/100 is pretty huge for most people's true winrates) is even sillier.

You see so many hands on these boards daily where opponents are named, their stats posted and reads exchanged (eg. 'Your read of him as weak/tight is way off, he's a spewmonkey in my book.') just for the analysis of one hand. And that very specific information can hurt a player's winrate much more badly than other people knowing their winrate and general stats over a datamined sample. Hell, just the fact that people converse about regs is going to hurt these regs much more badly.

If you're going to ban datamined stats because someone might get played back at, I think you've got some pretty big delusions about what those threads are already doing anyway, or for that matter reads accompanying specific hands.

i never said the regs threads were a good idea in the first place.

and it's obvious that this would be a landslide, i don't see how you would expect otherwise. If the datamines show top 50 winners, then clearly i would expect at most 50 people to have an issue with it.
