Good old AKo preflop ... Good old AKo preflop ...

Hi guys,
I'm usually a FL player, but I'm testing NL a little bit at the moment. So there are 2 hands (see another thread for the other one) that might be totally standard for you, but I felt pretty unsure about them

Villain was unknown in therms of history or reads, but he made a TAGish (maybe around 18/15 or 21/18) first impression.
Does it matter, that we are already playing for 120BB, or do you not make a difference between 100 and 120BB?

Party Poker $100 No Limit Hold'em - 6 players

BTN: $27.89
SB: $136.43
BB: $210.65
Hero (UTG): $303.22
MP: $104.21
CO: $126.92

Pre Flop: Hero is UTG with K A
Hero raises to $4, 1 fold, CO raises to $12, 3 folds, Hero raises to $36, CO raises to $80, Hero raises to $303.22 all in, CO calls $46.92 all in

It matters more that you're UTG. You don't have to felt AK every time either.

can find a fold preflop.. but in this situation its a whole world of difference between a 18/15 or 21/18

4betting isnt so great because well youre utg and a tag 3bet you. being 120bb deep would make me not wanna commit myself pre in this situation. I think this is one of the few situations that id flat the 3bet oop with AK. he only 3Xed your open and you can get possibly get value out of AJs/AQ type of hands this way. depends on the opponent though. sometimes folding it here is best.

most likey i would of just called the re-raise preflop cause ive ran into aces or kings too many times playing ak like that and then when i miss i feel like a idiot cause i felted myself on a draw, maybe thats just me but i consider ak a draw.

not really. there are plenty of 18/15's that are total 3-bet monkeys and this is an auto 4-bet/call and plenty of "nitty" 21/18's that i might just fold to the 3-bet.

as for OP, 4-bet/calling it off is prob pretty close and not a huge mistake either way. bc we're 120bb deep it becomes a little closer though, and w/ 100bb i'd just about auto felt this readless. the big problem is like somebody mentioned, you did open UTG so his 3-betting range *should* be a little tighter. there are still enough bad regs that auto 3-bet AQ/TT+ here though so 4-bet/call is prob fine. his small ass 5-bet is kinda scary though.
